It’s consistent across teams and across weeks, and pretty much happens on the same map points. It’s no longer memeing at this point.
Doesn’t mean we should stop trying to balance, unless you’re ok with Ana being at the bottom of the totem pole and THAN balancing stops.
Look at the problem from every angle, understand what is needed to make other comps viable without sledge hammer nerfs or overpowering a hero to force a meta.
Moira and Bap have a horrible design.
Moira has no depth, balancing her is just not feasible without breaking her input to output ratio
Bap has the swiss army knife problem:
Buffing his damage and he can be replaced by a DPS
buff his heal and we can end up with hypersustain
Buff lamp and you kill dive
Buff aoe heal and you kill dive and give him too much sustain
Gibe both a mini rework give them more depth

If a map is poor for ana because lack of sightlines, it doesn’t mean ana is less broken.

Bottom line is this, Ana is not an issue. If anything people need to stop thinking a hero being picked a lot means they’re overpowered, need I remind you how many heroes have been gutted since 222 was added.
He wasn’t nerfed because he was meta, he was nerfed because immortality field was THAT powerful as an ability, it literally stopped death and with Bap’s healing and damage output on top of that he was exceptionally hard to counter. I don’t think they nerfed him the right way but it’s like you guys don’t grasp how hard some of this stuff is to beat when used a coordinated environment.
I’d actually like that if you could actually trust Blizzard to do reworks properly.
Because so far with things like Hanzo and Mercy’s reworks making them broken OP or Sym/ Torb doing close to nothing to assist them is discouraging.
And you see all the Baptiste mains saying he needs buffs, where as before they were arguing that the game is fine and balanced. When one’s heroes is meta, than balance is fine, perfection isn’t possible, but the second one’s heroes are trash, now all of a sudden change is required? No joke everyone acts like this.
The IF nerfs were justified but the nerf to his healing was overboard,

We’ve never had such a thing. It only makes sense for Ana to be the best support in a Rein meta. But whatever, i’m already on the edge of quiting.

Characters that require more skill will always be useful in the higher ranks, because they have the skill to use them. In tandem, fun heroes will always have a somewhat consistent pick rate due to them just being fun to play. Hence Ana.
Widowmaker is also in the bracket you are describing; she gets a lot of value in the higher ranks, because they can hit her shots and her value comes from that. Does that mean we should nerf her into the ground for anyone who cant hit 360 flick shots half the match? Absolutely not.
Ana is like this. If you nerf her value that is already hard to land, you ruin the hero. People will still play Ana on ladder, but I can guarantee you people will be whining more about Ana being trash.

Even if its a vicious circle of nerfing meta and buffing trash tier, the game still needs to try and do it. Imagine a game where the developers knew certain heroes were outliers but choose to ignore it. Those people would be justifiably annoyed.
META, overpowered, according to the community both of these words mean the same thing…when they really don’t.
Which in that case, Ana is the META Support, and if Winston & D.Va are effective, she will see her way out of the Support throne.
I do think she might be overtuned, but I don’t think she’s overpowered like how some people are suggesting, and even then, she’s only overtuned on PC.
She doesn’t need Console nerfs.
Teams experiment a lot in the early stages of OWL, it’s nothing new to see them meme around with less than optimal picks. Besides they’re so skilled and sometimes the skill difference between teams is so vast they can just play around.
Can 100% confirm that. She just got a buff on console to have her out-of-school projectile shots very slightly larger, which shows you what the devs are thinking about her rn
