Really wish the hero/gamer editor was available for us to use. The custom games settings are nice but are lacking and they were supposed to be a placeholder for a much more in depth editor. It would be great if the editor included abilities and ultimates removed from the game as well. Even abilities removed during the Beta like Bastion’s frontal barrier. That’s the only one I remember getting removed during Beta though.
Never. That would undermine the entire game.
The devs said in the past they were going to release it for us to use and that custom games settings was just a placeholder until the editor was ready to be released.

I really wish they had mod tools… I really want to make my own reworks and test them out…
I don’t want a hero editor but I think it’d be cool to swap abilities around. Let me have wall climbing Roadhog
That’s basically what the editor is outside of creating things that require artwork and modeling to be done.
Yeah, that’s what I’m saying… I want an editor… mod tools would be slightly better because you could change the actual code instead of just playing with settings, but either one would do as long as the editor is powerful enough
I remember them saying they wanted to create something in-depth like the editors for Warcraft 3 and Starcraft 2. And you can do some pretty complex stuff with those editors.

I remember Jeff talking about it in a video but it was a long time ago. I don’t know if it was in a video on the Overwatch youtube channel or if it was in a video from an interview. After that they added custom games and said it was just going to be a placeholder for the editor.
