When are we getting an unlimited avoid list?

I don’t care if my queue times grow to 20 minutes

Just give me 2 for each role.

No, because it would give everyone an hour-long queue. It’d be one thing if adding a hundred people to your avoid list only affected you. However, it also affects everyone else that could potentially queue with you.

You have to consider how having unlimited avoid slots would effect the entire playerbase. It might make sense for the majority of us but in the GM/Top 500 it would create issues. All of those players would avoid every sym/torb/1 trick in that elo and then those players would get boned hardcore for finding matches.

There has to be some sort of balance man, you can’t just avoid everyone you don’t like lol. I think it’s reasonable to have 3-5 slots. Those people that I am referencing in the higher ranks start to develop a reputation for being a “sym 1 trick”. They are still GM players and still very skilled at the game. They don’t cause “trouble”, they just choose to play the game different than the majority of us by playing 1 hero. 1 tricking is not against the ToS of the game, but poeple still report and avoid others for doing it. Does that mean they shouldnt be able to play at all because of people abusing a feature of the game? I get that your passionate about your opinion but you have to be reasonable. Unlimited avoid spots is not reasonable. And to answer your initial question, It’s Blizzards game. They can do whatever the flying hell they want with it lol.

I’m failing to find the bad part about this ‘‘issue’’?

I’m all for unlimited avoids but this may help “win trading coalitions” i.e. people who throw when their friend is on the other team

the ultimate answer for better teams is a better LFG. If I had all this QoL, I would never use matchmaker again QoL for the LFG

Never, because you have to deal with things in life.

You dont, but others do care. We had it before and it didnt work, so never.

And can you give me examples why you need it? I dont think i ever avoided more than 2 people at once anyway. I mean i didnt even fill my 5 avoid limit.

I think you are way too picky about your team mates.

I think 5 would be great.

3, you could literally fill that up in 3 games.

Blizzard develops the game for ALL players? How is that hard to understand? They do their best to create a positive gaming experience for everyone playing, not just the vocal minority of the forums.

The playerbase as a whole cannot be trusted with unlimited avoid lists, fullstop. If you’re upset at a few players who give you trouble during games, imagine the havoc they could wreak if they were giving you (and the rest of overwatch) trouble by abusing that unlimited avoid list. Yeah this is a great place to come and vent about a problem but what you’re doing is actively ignoring the majority of people who come across and tell you why it’s a bad idea or offer alternative solutions. That is a sign of immaturity, as someone pointed out.

If you have to ignore or avoid most people you interact with, the problem isn’t them. That goes for in-game and on the forums.

I would like an option to avoid all stacks of 3 or more being on my team.

I love it when you got matched with a 6 and a 5 stack as solo queue … it’s like the matchmaker kicks you in the balls.

So many act like unlimited avoids will make their queue times go up. The only person who will lose is the person avoiding many players. Bad players will still be there but they will be opponents not teammates.

The day before they shut down the servers.

While you are correct that the person avoiding players will see an increase in queue times, this is also true for other people.

Think about it: Whenever the matchmaker wants to create a match, it needs to take into consideration who has avoided whom.

Let’s say you have avoided 1 person, and the matchmaker wants to put them on the enemy team, but wait, someone on the enemy team has avoided that person too, so now the matchmaker has to find someone else to put into the enemy team.

This will give everyone in that potential lobby of 12 players a longer wait time, even though only 2 of the players in that lobby have avoided someone.

@CakeWalker huge disagree, I would love to avoid onetricks to death, playing their heroes into compositions that counter that hero and refuse to swap off show poor teamplay from that person.

@ShadowSn1per Jeff only thinks about the GM/T500 anyways, look at the reaper buff, in low elo it was painful yet in higher it didn’t even make a difference against GOATs.

@Life, even if he is picky he has certain player types he wants to avoid, it goes for everyone.

Would rather just have up to 25-50 people who I could avoid rather than everyone.

I don’t understand, why would you want to put the effort in to maintain such a huge list when you can accomplish everything you want by playing with friends, people you know, or at least throw together an LFG team yourself to filter who you want in advance. If the community is truly so awful that you truly need an INFINITE list then your job of adding people to it will also never end. I mean if you really want to shelter yourself that badly, just find a single player game or FFA and play that instead. An INFINITE list is a pretty extreme thing to ask for and everyone having one could really increase match-making resource costs if people were to abuse it. Would even impact people who have no one on their avoid list and are not avoided by anyone else.

My opinion is that the problem being discussed in this thread is an exaggerated issue suggested in ignorance out of anecdotal frustration. I mean, why not complain to papa Jeff that OW can’t read your mind and know who’s going to piss you off in advance? Why even let people pick characters? This game is about freedom of choice, take that away, even for 1-tricks and you start sliding down a slippery slope where no one will want to play it any more.
