Infinite permanent “Avoid as teammate” slots. There are more than 3 people who I want to avoid as a teammate for my entire life. 3 people is just not enough and a week isn’t long enough.
-
Harsher penalties for throwing competitive games. I want to see accounts being banned permanently from competitive for repeat offenses of throwing. I want to see more reports of throwing investigated and acted on.

A better competitive rating and ladder system. The one we have is terrible. It’s nearly impossible to climb, because you are always taking 2 steps forward and 3 steps back. I would like to see a system where every player wins 25 points from a win and loses 25 from a loss universally. 50 points lost for leaving a game early.

A better matchmaking system. I’d like to see a system set up where players who out perform other players are placed together in teams and allowed to ladder as they should. The current system ties the hands of the better players by placing them into “even” teams with the worst players. You then have 1-3 players on each team trying to carry their dead weight every single game. Let the bad players drop and the good players rise.
Huh?! You want to “let the good players rise and the bad players drop” but also completely remove PBSR?
What kind of sense does that make? You should want pbsr to be implemented more significantly in that case. As in larger swings in SR per wins/losses based on performance.
Reading between the lines, it sounds like you are one of those players that lose more sr per loss than they gain per win but cant put two and two together and realize that they are underperforming in their games, which is why you want to get rid of pbsr
Its usually the worst players that are the quickest to blame all of their struggles on “bad teammates” when they lose
No, what I want is a way to turn my language into Spanish so I can hear what Ana sounds like when she falls off the map.
There is a difference between tracking how a player performs in each match and giving them points for a won or lost game. You can still track and reward good players on a losing team by giving them better players to play with in their next game. No I’m not one of the under performing players. I have literally lost games while holding 5 gold medals AND the card for healing, which means I healed more than any other player in the game. What do I get as a reward? I get to be placed on another terrible team and am expected to have to try to carry that team in the next game.
Just face the fact.
You not good at the game.
Im not good at the game.
99.9% players bad at it.
You dont have billion dollars.
I dont have billion dollars.
99.9% of us dont have it.
Life is cruel.
what we want and what we need are two different things. Also, I’m fairly certain you can change the language in the game to several different languages, one of which is probably Spanish.
I hate PBSR even though I usually gain more SR for a win than I lose for a loss. I generally care about my win rate more than my SR. So if I’m gaining more than I lose every game on DPS that makes it more difficult to maintain a win rate of 50% because I have to actually climb in order to do so.
This also makes no sense. A GM player might have a 50% win rate in GM, but they would have a 90+% win rate in gold… do you think they would rather have a 90% win rate in gold or be in GM with a 50% win rate?
Depends on who you ask. There are definitely a lot of smurfs out there who would rather have a 90% win rate in gold than play in their true elo.
we could use a community led volunteer system of only the most trusted people to investigate replays and if found guilty these volunteers could escalate the accounts and replays to someone at blizz for final feedback and an almost guaranteed punishment. But only for the players who genuinely throw.
Not the jerk who 1 tricks hog or genji and should just be avoided for the full 7 days anytime anyone sees them until they change their ways.
That’s just it. if you have a %90 win rate in gold, you advance to the higher tier of skill, The problem with smurfs is that they throw half or more of their games to drop their rating. This means that half of the games they play in, the people on their team are being completely screwed over.
I don’t think you understand the HUGE problem with smurfs isn’t “playing against higher skilled players” it’s completely and totally destroying the rating system by throwing and staying in a low level.
You can’t expect new players to come into competitive for their first time and face off with these high skill players. They are not going to have a good time. The silver and bronze and gold ranks are infested with smurfs. New players don’t stand a chance. They won’t keep playing, they won’t tell their friends to play and no new players will join the game. The game will die out when all you have left is smurfs.
Yeah, I personally don’t get their system. I do wish they would count individual performance a bit more heavily when it comes to competitive because if you get stuck with stupid team mates who refuse to switch characters or who are just bad, then you are punished for their stupidity and vice versa.
Yes, exactly this. Freaking complainers man. Complain about not being able to climb but have been playing exactly the same for 5 seasons, no increase to their own skill or accuracy or play making or timing or anything. They aren’t getting any better, and lo and behold, they aren’t climbing, but just innately think they should be higher?
It sounds like you, based on what you are saying, have about a 50/50 win loss rate. You go up a bit, drop down a bit, but make so substantive climb season to season…right?
If you were winning more than you were losing, and steadily climbing, then that would mean you weren’t getting match made very well…the system was skewed in your favor, right? That is assuming your play was more or less the same, and you weren’t getting better.
But what you are proposing is that the Match Maker is BOTH skewed against you AND you are getting better so you should be climbing, both to an almost equal degree which is what keeps you stuck…
That’s a pretty damn complicated scheme…
the much easier answer is that you are having a hard time climbing cause you are placed at right about where your skill actually is.
If that many players are bad at the game, it sounds more like the game’s fault than the players’ faults.
I don’t think people are bad at the game. I think people are bad at working as a team and Overwatch is very much a team based game. The better a team works as a unit, the better everyone does.
I think there should be more tutorials from Overwatch on how to work as a team. Rather than having to suffer from listening to some of these godawful YouTubers talk about strategies. They may be great players, but they are terrible teachers.
So, you’ve basically completely ignored my entire post except for the part of the competitive matchmaking and rating system, and have taken the time to not add anything constructive aside from criticism for my personal skills, of which you have never witnessed. You are the reason Blizzard continues to get away with this system. You would rather troll posts asking for change than question the infinite wisdom of your blizzard gods. GG man.
I responded to what seemed to be your main point. What exactly were you trying to say that I didn’t reply to?
I wasn’t insulting your skill, unless you condsider being average and insult, in which case, yes I was insulting your skill.
So, You’re perfectly happy with almost no penalties being given to people who throw games? You also don’t have a problem with only being able to avoid 3 people at a time for 7 days? There are never more than 3 people who you don’t want as a teammate? You think 7 days is long enough?
I didn’t say any of that nor do I believe any of that. Nothing I said could even be interpreted a that.
Stop…making…things…up
This is the most defeatist nonsense repeated ad nauseum.
“Everything is fine. You are bad.”
devs change game
“Everything is fine. You are bad.”
repeat
Obviously you’re the type with the problem.
