What if, they buffed Barriers

But on maps with Attackers and Defenders, the Attackers got ultimate charge for shooting barriers.

Say 10% of damage dealt converts into Ult charge.

Additionally, this only affects Competitive, and Open Queue. Not Quickplay.

(I guess they could also do this for King of the Hill maps, and alternate who the Attackers and Defenders are, depending on who has the objective)

You can forget about Genji ever seeing playtime on defense if the attackers have a zen LMAO

I’m looking at this from the perspective of how TF2 used Ubercharge to push through way too much defensive spam.

And how the reason 2CP is hated is because it’s so difficult avoid stalling.

If you could just poke at range, then push in, then stalemates would be a lot less common.

And given the way Competitive works, it’d be more about which team is faster. Rather than which team can slow the game down the most.

Genji would already be getting nerfed because so many other dps heroes have higher and faster damage with better ults

Why would they balance the game for Quickplay?

In Competitive. Both teams play Attack and Defence.

But if they had to, they could get rid of this mechanic for Quickplay.

Since DoubleBarrier was never really much of a problem for Quickplay.

Still who would want to play on defense? 2CP is already terrible enough they are going to get rid of it and you want to put a side that needs to win every encounter at a disadvantage?

Well like you said, you make a pretty good point for this not being a part of Quickplay.

Also for 2CP in Quickplay, I could see a map type that is just the Point A portions of 2CP maps, all rolled into one map. With a best of 5.

Even in competitive if you make a game mode so much less enjoyable that people are willing to eat a loss to avoid it, then it’s not really a good direction.

Personally I would like them to try a delivery style mode like Dirty Bomb had. Point A can be capture the resources and Point B can be deliver the resources x2-3

Right, but the reason 2CP sucks in Competitive is the stalemates. And this gets rid of that.

Eh, there is a lot more issues that people have with 2CP then just stalemates. Personally the biggest issue for me is horde ults and slam Defense for easy capture.
