I don’t follow other shooters’ e-sports scenes - let alone hero shooters like OW - so I wouldn’t know, I’m afraid. Maybe Valorant has the same problem, but I haven’t paid any attention to that game since it became apparent it was a CS style game, which isn’t my cup of tea.
Please do not lie on the forums
Thank you
you really have gone mad
her bullets do 3.5 dmg to armor from 1
So you don’t understand how armor works in OW1, apparently.
In OW1, armor reduces damage by 5, up to 50%. Thus, Tracer’s shots would be doing 3 damage, not 1. Given that even the high-armor tanks still have more health than armor, having some of her damage go up by .5 when most of her damage is going down by 1 is in no way a buff.
Who cares what they play. I’m not a pro and neither are any of us.
I saw this during Beta 2 a lot as well. And the beta was definitely not full of pros
Things just didn’t die, and engaging on a low health enemy was just as likely to end in your death as their’s
Imagine saying that while seeing all the previous meta and who made them, do you think goat or double shield came from nowhere in the game?
But, aren’t most eSports mirror matches unless there’s some kind of ban system/1 hero per match allowed?
I mean, we gotta realize that OW has far more hero variety than other games though. 34 heroes and all of them are unique. Compare that to other games with maybe 15-20 characters that have unique abilities but access to the same weaponry
Nothing to do with Geoff goodman
- No one cares (or should care) what pros do. Most of the time their matches are mirror matches anyway. None of us are going to pull off that level of synergy or coordination and those that can are like, 1% of the playerbase anyway, so again, it doesn’t matter.
- Watching the game and playing the game are two entirely different problems. Who cares if it’s boring to watch? Who wants to watch someone play a video game unless it’s something story-driven? I don’t. I’d rather play it.
- I love how anytime someone complains about a meta being unskilled or lasting too long they always seem to conveniently leave dive out of it. Why does dive get a pass but double shield and GOATS/JOATS do not? And don’t say “BECAUSE THEY’RE EASIER TO GET VALUE OUT OF” that’s not an explanation that’s you whining.
- Stop demanding immediate nerfs to heroes like whiny children. Brig is nowhere near the monster she used to be, and JQ is still too new to fully work on. Maybe there needs to be a change to sustain/speed stacking, yes, but that should be a global change, not an immediate “let’s dumpster a hero because of a broken mechanic that needs to be examined with more nuance”.
- Don’t expect any meaningful or good changes anyway, Goodman’s still in charge of the balance team.
Now everyone shut the hell up.
You know, it’s almost as if the pros/OWL should have a completely separate balance from the game because shackling your pros to your playerbase and vice-versa is one of the worst ideas for both environments, maybe ever. And it’s not even like they always play on the current live patch, anyway.
They are pros. They can adjust and excel, that’s literally their whole job. We are not the same.

Completely wrong, the meta is made by pros and players following it no matter if you care or not if you don’t want to lose against the enemy team, you’re forced to follow the same pro path composition, just like goat or double shield, stop saying no one cares that’s bronze thoughts.

huh who cares again??? if you think a boring game will bring more people into the game and viewers don’t matter or have any impact to the game you’re a delusional

Stop being arrogant like you don’t know how blizzard works with the balance system, letting the game dying for 6 years and expecting changes by miracle, i will whine as much as i can because i know for fact the state of this “new” game will remain as same as ow1 with balancing heroes whenever they choose to or they want like it doesn’t hurt the game having the same composition for 4 years, but i get it you’re only here because you don’t know anything about the game.

Now everyone shut the hell up.
As you said little bronzy
Don’t bother using logic. Brig can never be played without 3k posts ball-aching about her.
I enjoyed every part of this posts.
It is a crazy world where Lucio and Brig are meta healers together. Junker queens commanding shout is a pretty insane ability
.
This meta has Genji and Sojourn/Ashe as the primary damage dealers so I guess this just confirms that people will say unskilled at every meta.
What’re you even crying about.
We’ve been stuck in this soldier Cree hell hole for like 2-3 straight YEARS.
At this point I’d play hog into 5 mei’s and find it more fun than a single match against those 2.
ANY variation from what we’ve been dealing with in OW1 is welcome in my books.
That’s the problem i’m pointing at, if you can read, meta stuck will still be a thing
GOATS in comparison was more a case of ‘stay together and cycle defensive abilities correctly’ whereas the current requires the gamesense to recognise openings.
As such, don’t expect to see this on ladder like we did GOATS.

Don’t be so confident.
GOATS wasn’t that hard to pull off with basic comms. The comp in question requires not just consistent comms, but actual gamesense. I’m not expecting it, and nor am I worried even if it does happen for a bit because my lord I’d love a new meta that isn’t controlled by hitscans and shields + ana.
Lol have you seen the new meta, literally nothing is dying
