Idk, being mad at gaming company, that they wanna make more money of their games is weird. Overwatch is still quite popular after 6 years and you just paid once for it, so no wonder, they wanna milk it, specialy now, when WOW is suffering from bad content and people stop their subscriptionsā¦

I just play their video games. I donāt work for them, so I donāt really care what their working conditions are like. As long as they keep releasing fun games, I will keep playing them.

Smite at one point (not sure if they still do that deal now) had a deal when you unlock all character + all future characters for a 1 time payment and i think that was $19.99
If OW was going full F2P for QP and theyāll charge people for heroes as they didnāt own the game, then I hope the package to get all the heroes is similar pricing to what smite charged & would include future heroes too for those players who get it.
Paladins has the same option. if you bought the 60 bucks pack you will get any current and any future hero for free. Its that simple.
Weekly rotation and just QP for F2P and all heroes and comp behind a one time price. The rest will be monetized with a skin shop and a battle pass every 2-3 months.
I dont see something bad here. OW players are just spoiled currently and to many of them dont know what a ālife service gameā is and what this means. They live in 2010 and think that ābuy one timeā is enough for future years of development and that they get EVERYTHING for free.

And the āitā that gets abandoned might actually be Overwatch itself.
The fact is, you canāt have consistent updates (the main complaint from this community) without a consistent source of revenue. Having something for free in perpetuity that gets highly invested in is a fantasy.
They HAVE to find something to sell.
We shouldnāt be hoping that they donāt sell anything. We should be hoping they sell something that is worth paying for.

Meh, different people, different morals. I for one am happy to keep criticizing Blizzardās vile behavior towards women - sexual abusers are trash and Iām happy to call them what they are

D4 and OW2 will have similar monetizationās and micro transactions as D:Iā¦Probably not as predatory but I can see PvE missions gated behind pay wallsā¦ As for D4, itāll probably be like D:I but to a lesser degree but who knows it may even be the same or worseā¦Iām inclined to believe the latter since, you know, it is Bli$$ after all.
Thereās good battle passes and really scammy ones. We can just keep fingers crossed that if it does come, it wonāt hinder the game at all.
Honestly if a battle pass is one way to fight smurfing being so rampant in the game, Iām happy to pay it.

this release is looking up to be a complete nightmare Iām calling it.
its either gonna be the beta but worse or a gacha filled square enix type destruction of the previous overwatch similar to diablo immortal.
blizzard did it so recently that I can 100% see them doing it again
I expect battle passes, locked skins, locked heros, locked maps, a gacha game crypto currency system and paid stat increases/something that gives you an extreme advantage
