I mean, nobody is forcing you to buy it, it’s not like it’s a big deal if you don’t have the emote.
Funny really.
I stop by the forums, and after reading multiple threads like this, I decided to actually go ahead and buy the pass! Thanks for the idea!
Game on.
what Lunastar said. 20202020
“You don’t only get the emote you get useless twitch and OWL sh!t skins as well”
Who cares about twitch emotes or OWL league skins? They’re awful and no one watches the OWL to actualy watch the matches. People open the stream and go afk to get tokens to buy overpriced skins.
Stop with these comments. You dont want the package you dont get the emote. Companies are allowed to make money, it is liferally the reason they exist.
I’m glad you get something I don’t for your support of OWL too. It is only fair. Good job being an early adopter. I never wanted the pass because while I do watch OWL, I didnt need all the access. Good on You!!!
Blizz: Hey pay for this thing we like and there will be a surprise benefit to it.
OWL passholders: OK this thing you like sounds like a thing I would like and there might be an exclusive surprise?! Heres $30 bux!
Later…
Blizz: Hey loyal passholder and league supporter, remember that thing we promised you? (Whips out shiny awesome emote)
Passholders: Oh joy!
Forums: Wahhhhh I didn’t get this free thing as a part of a thing I didnt wanna pay for but is still available at regular price. Blizz only want my money for the free emote.
glad to see some people understand it. like you cant be mad because you didn’t want to support something, and others got rewarded down the road for their support.
If someone wants to sell you a 3 piece outfit and all you want is the pants, that doesn’t mean you get to freak out because they want to sell you the set and not sell you the pants alone. That’s not how business works.
Business works by a business saying “Would you like to buy this product?” and then you decide ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. If you think the price is unfair and you don’t want the product, then you do not buy it. Simple as that. You don’t get to dictate what a business sells, what quantity they sell it in, or how much they charge for it- the Business makes those choices. You, the consumer, choose whether or not you want to buy their product. It ain’t rocket science, kids.
Sure, get mad I guess because you’re upset you ‘can’t have’ this single emote that they made to sweeten their OWL passes; but you’re still being whiny, entitled brats.
Can we all just agree and I know this is probably late but the emote drops tomorrow and if you want it buy it if you don’t want it leave it alone sure you may want it but think it’s dumb to pay thirty dollars for it but if you’re willing to cause an outrage because you want it but don’t want to pay that’s just sad because ik you want to buy it with in-game currency but even if overwatch is greedy companies have to make money especially when blizzard has been focused on this game for a while and it may or may not die in a year or two so they need the money it may be greedy but if you want it buy it you don’t have to acknowledge the owl stuff
Inb4 someone: “bUt ThEy ArE tHe SaMe ThInG!11!!!”
They should have made it to where a few characters can throw down an OWL flag or something… I’d really like this emote, because it really is awesome and for a great character that shows who he is, but I won’t pay $30 for it, because I don’t really care about OWL.
It sucks but I’ll live.
The OP is for sure the kind of person, who goes into a cinema where there is a free coke included into the ticket, watches the movie and complains about the high price for this coke afterwards.
First world problems…
This greed, that people want to own everything for low is really amazing nowadays.
They could charge $50 for every cosmetic for all I care. It’s on the individual that becomes obsessed with a simple cosmetic. Just don’t buy it? Or do. You bought a dress for a virtual Barbie doll. Are you proud of yourself?
“But it’s paywalling content!”. No it’s not cosmetics are not content no matter how hard you want to believe otherwise.
When they start charging for map packs and heroes, we riot, until then…chilllllllllll oouuuuttt man.
As long as people keep spending hard cash on nonsense. I get regular updates and content for free so keep at it ya goofs!
You don’t need to show anything. In big corporations money speak volumes. You don’t like what they are doing? Simply don’t buy it. In the end, if they don’t make profits they will scrap the idea.
Complaining, especially in here means nothing and changes nothing. If anything here you are risking a ban or being targeted by whiteknights for harassment.
If you really want to complain though, then go ahead and do it on twitter and facebook and basically social media that reach a wider audience than just 10% of Blizzard fans that go to the Blizzard forums.
They are not charging $30.00 for a single emote. They are charging $30.00 for the All Access Pass, which grants you numerous benefits both in-game and on Twitch, one of which is an in-game mote. Please don’t go around spreading false information.
With regard to people complaining about Pink Mercy, I personally feel most of them are just trying to get the skin without paying real cash. In my opinion, not worth my time to discuss further.
Since I don’t play Lucio (yet - I unlocked his Jazzy skin with coins in hopes of playing Lucio someday soon as a Support Main), I do not feel any desire for the emote, but I suppose Lucio mains would be miffed at the very least. I would probably feel more outrage if the emote was for one of my current mains (Mercy/Brigitte).
Ultimately, if faced with such a choice, I would ask myself seriously if I want the digital goods badly enough to pay the asking price, and if I do take the plunge, not to regret the purchase once made.
I forked out the cash once on lootboxes to get one of my favourite skins, and did not regret it every time I equipped it to play because I love that skin so much.
It doesnt matter if you dont care about owl or not, its a bundle nonetheless. If you want it but hate how much it is then set a precedent and dont buy it, if you buy it and then moan about the fact you had to spend £30 on it, the only person to blame is yourself whilst Blizzard are laughing.
Greed? You have already payed for the game. Everything inside it should be free. This is not a f2p game where you play for free and pay for anything else.
I am outraged!!!
but not really, I don’t care…
I can completely relate to this comment, since I made the same thing in World of Warcraft back in the days, but… after seeing what this kind of behaviour does to a game, I try to care.
It’s just a game, but the probem is that companies do as much as they are allowed to do, so it’s just a matter of time until your gaming-experience will be impacted by it. Guess it depends on how much you care about the game in the long run.
