We NEED to buff Doom

My boy Doom Needs a buff I love playing him especially whit friends by in most real games its so hard to do something cool with him please help me buff doom he has like no health and hid ult is rlly bad so plz help buff My boy Doom :slight_smile:

There is a problem with that.
No one wants to be him buffed.

First why: there is extremely high skill cap on him. That means noob will do nothing as doom, but skilled person can do anything and more.
Imagine how strong will be pro doomfisters if they become stronger.

Second: there is most tanks with low skill cap, like orisa and roadhog. Even braindead player can have value from these heroes. And pro players playing just a little better than noobs.

Right now doomfist is weak, but in right hands he can do what others unable to carry out. How to balance it? I don’t know.
But other tanks heroes could be nerfed. That would be wonderful, especially hog.

I could replace doom with mercy and your opinion would change a lot. Let’s just limit mercy movement so top tier mercy’s and low tier mercy’s are not that different.

What can do he do that others cant exactly? Ball can disrupt/dive while staying alive, Winston can dive and hold space better, orisa/hog can brawl and tank insane amounts of damage, and sigma can poke better than anyone else.

Doomfist is unhealthy for the game if he is strong. When they buffed him to S tier it was certainly the worst week of OW2. He should remain as a high ceiling type character where you need to be exceptional in your rank to get value from him.

honestly just reduce the empowered punch damage required back to 90

This is totally not an insane exaggeration when roadhog still existed during this time period. He was strong if you were a OTP beforehand and now he’s actually worse than s1.

Btw. I wish doomfist bugs fixed.
There is so many critical bugs.

Hog being strong doesn’t make DF not strong at that time. Hog can 1 shot most characters yes but his hook is on a longer cooldown then DF CD cycle and doesnt have the mobility of DF. He was so OP that Blizzard responded in a week lol… enough said.

Least clueless overwatch player sojourn must be more balanced than doomfist because they haven’t nerfed her properly in 2 entire seasons! I could train a toddler in a day to consistently land hooks, but it would me a month to train them to actually confirm kills on DF without dying. The difference in effort/reward ratio is completely different he deserved some nerfs after they overbuffed him, but not to have his entire kit trashed and made even less viable.

80 was obviously way too low.
100 has seemed too high.
90 is just right.

Though at the moment he did get a +1sec nerf to punch, but if you get empower more regularly that might offset the +1 sec nerf he got along with the other buffs he has.

Blizzard really doesn’t know what they want to do with doom. They nerf his non empowered punch and try to give him more empowered punches then nerf the amount he gets of both.

Blizzard has a good idea what to do because DF is exactly where he needs to be. Niche pick in the metal ranks and one tricked in higher ranks. They experimented with buffs and it was not well received by majority of players which is likely why he was nerfed almost immediately.

Surely you can show some sources for this? Doomfist didn’t receive even 5% the backlash sojourn/kiriko/roadhog/orisa have received.

DF got nerfed… since blizzard use player data to nerf and buff then its all the proof needed.

Sojourn for example was not nerfed because she is exceptional in high ranks but pretty trash in low ranks. Hog is strong in all ranks which is why they have announced reworks that requires time so in the meantime they buffed Orisa to counter him. I believe these were all discussed on stream in twitch and youtube.

Problem with doom is that he nearly holds no influence vs fliers, mercy, pharah and echo. What does blizzard expect doom players to do vs them? He needs more tools.

Tank Doom can generally fight fliers them than DPS Doom could due to the way slam interacts with his other abilities, I don’t think that’s really the main thing holding him back.

The main thing I don’t get is how they try to give him more empowered punches as a set goal for season 2, but one patch later end up nerfing it to the point where it’s not only harder to power up punches than beta 1 while he keeps the stun nerf that came with the changes before.

They don’t seem to have a clue what direction to take this hero. Right now he’s just punch bot which isn’t fun for anyone.

He’s currently overpowered in the right hands. He’s almost impossible to punish and he can literally CC and entire team if they’re close. He’s IMMENSELY oppressive to supports.

This is a skill issue.

The skill issue is players shooting his block and allowing him to CC them in the first place. No matter how good the Doom player is he just doesn’t provide as much value as other tanks do without having his punch empowered, which happens even less now than the first beta while still being nerfed.

Even worse the higher you climb. Good players are not going to feed your block 125 damage so they can get stunned, and if they do they are not going to group up like bowling pins near a convenient wall. His usefulness ends there even if you’re good, the best Doom players are putting in all this effort for something that can be accomplished by merely breathing while playing a different tank.

He only has 450 health and a block that you can cc through with sleep, hook, spear, and others. Discord orb completely shuts him down if you want to go that route as well. Why play doom to go after supports when you can go any other flanker/dive character to get 20x the value.

Just do bug fixes for now. The devs are currently roasting Roadhog over a very large spit.
