Hey folks, we’re going to go ahead and lock this thread before it gets more negative - Thanks, Forum Mod
If you allow us guys to treat them like crap and not let them get on teams. Contenders Drama
Blizzard you should try to fix this or your league will have almost no girls in it because they are discouraged from playing by the guys.
Hand out Suspensions for confirmed incidents, if you can’t due to rules, change the rules so you can.

Not let them get on teams? Buddy, they pick who is the better player and has better synergy with the team. Not every girl will fit those needs.
There’s many players that are better than Geguri, so I’m surprised they picked her in the first place.

I don’t think its a men only league. They won’t hesitate picking a girl as a professional player if this can benefit them competitively.

Well, Shanghai has a girl.

Pretty sure a girl got on a team in the OWL so there goes your whole complaint.

I agree with this, however even if they are better than the other tryouts they often still pick the boy.
You’re asking for them to put girls in the league because they’re girls not because they’re good. I’ve only heard of very few who can play the game at pro level and one has already made it into the league.

…How do you know? Don’t automatically assume everyone is sexist

actually no, girls are shunned in the competitive enviroment.
Remember when she was called a hacker way back?
If she didn’t prove that wrong she would have never been able to prove she was actually this good

Suspensions for what exactly? You haven’t brought up anything other than not having many girls in OWL, does that mean you’re suspending the coaches because there are few girls?

Not because she was a girl… because she was incredibly good as zarya and had insane aim.

There are hardly any women in professional e-sport anyway (at least not at the highest level of play). Not exclusive to OWL.
Guess what? She did prove that wrong. Please stop complaining about a non issue. I have still heard of only about 2-3 good girl players and I’m pretty sure 1 of them said they don’t want to go pro

This isn’t exclusive to her? Her case just blew up. She wasn’t shunned, people just doubted her legitimacy. And her case blew up! Two pro players literally promised to quit if she was legit, and they did. People doubted Dafran, and then they realized he was legit. People doubt pro CoD players, CSGO players, etc…
They aren’t shunned, they’re less common which makes people more skeptic. There’s a big difference.

Has it occurred to you that maybe the “boy” is just better at the game?

No it was because she was a girl that they called her a hacker in the first place.
I am a guy LUL 4Head
You can’t just assume that without any proof. Did someone explicitly say “Oh, I thought she was a hacker cause she was a girl”
There’s a danger in mixing sexes in a competitive environment.
Unless each member is in a healthy relationship, drama can get super ugly. It’s just a reality worth noting.
Though no doubt the decisions are more about play quality and stigmas than potential drama.
dang guess you’re done responding to me, RIP the discussion

You don’t just invite women onto your pro team because of their genitals, you invite them onto your pro team if they are good enough to play for your team.
Additionally there aren’t many women who play videogames at a professional level because it’s not the kind of thing that women find that interesting and there tend to be more men in that scene than women (because yanno, testosterone tends to encourage competition) and thus more men end up being picked than women.
