This should be implemented in overwatch, there are just some maps i do not like to play on. For example, Napal, Blizzard World are two examples for me personally.
Let us decide which map we want to play on or avoid when queuing up in QP, and Comp.
What do you all think, should there be a Voting map system for QP and Comp?
I was for it at first (during the first year of the game), but there are so many targets for āunpopularā maps that the game would be really bland with people just constantly voting for Kingās Row or something. Beyond that, I actually like most of the maps that people hate. Such as Blizzard World, in your case.
Eh. I donāt think it would end up working out as well as anticipated.
People wanted LFG for ages and still complain that its trash now that we have it. Can you imagine the chaos resulting from a map avoiding system? The matchmaker is bad enough without throwing map preferences into the mix.
If they were gonna do it, it should be done like MWO does it where it will pop 3-4 choices then the lobby votes. If your pick loses the vote, your vote power goes up 1. If your pick wins your vote power resets to normal 1 vote. That way, itās guaranteed that eventually you will get to play the map you want even if it isnāt a popular one.
I am really tired of getting volskaya at least 2 times a day while I have barely even played Blizzardworld but voting is not good enough. It will just create bias towards certain maps and make it even worse.
Itās a terrible idea because 2 cp will never be played and people like me love 2 cp. we will also be limiting the maps we play. Stuck playing the same couple of maps over and over again.
Also hell no for comp. take the map you get and play it. That will be so abused. People will only play maps that they excel at on niche heroes that have crazy winrate on those specific couple of maps. They would be raising thier sr to a rank they really shouldnāt be playing at. Thatās boosting and basically cheating. Now they will edit thier menu and join other maps and ruining thier teams games because they arenāt actually meant to play at that competitive level.
That video blame the controller did was messed up and he sounded entitled as hell. I love most of his content but he was wrong for that one. He put no thought into what the negative effects of this would be on a game and was just like yeah thereās none. Then he twists the words of the devs of the interveiw. They didnāt ask for peopleās ideas on how to do a veto system. They said they donāt want to do it and would rather have people tell them why they think the map is not fun and fix that instead.
These decisions donāt just effect the people that use the feature. It affects everyone. I would much rather have a healthy equal random odd at maps giving diversity then filling the same maps over for people that avoided half the maps.
I donāt think this is a good idea simply because I felt that the guy at the panel answered it well.
If you could just vote out a map, then nobody will ever know if there were certain bugs that needed fixing in said map
and ignoring it altogether would be as if the map doesnāt really exist anymore. It would be a waste of the developer teamās time and resources if say, a majority of the community despised a certain map and just voted it out of game.
I will something like the āFinal Destination⦠Fox Onlyā in Smash Bros community, also some heroes shine better in some maps.
I hate Lijiang Tower, but the randomizer makes everything diverse.
Also the queue will take long of time for people wanting the same map
One day I will repay your kindness. Thank you. Also I love your name. Iāve been thinking about legally changing my name to nova because I love it as a name and use it for a lot of my usernames
Other problems would include specializing in only a certain map. Like someone said above, what if you were really good at map type X but mediocre at the others? You could just play the one mode you are good at with the heroes that are good at that mode to boost yourself.
Oh my that would be amazing! You would have the coolest name ever haha I like it as well as its simple yet very āspaceā like! I never net a Nova before but if you did change it youād be the first I know lol
