Lol before i hit the gow part of your post i immediately thought digger and tbh that could be an interesting ability idea for this game.
Venture has balls tho. And a drill!
(lol)
I’m sure he will get the Maui treatment and be entirely broken on release, then nerfed to trash once everyone has gotten tired of playing against him.
I feel like games with shields should have a character that can go around shields in them from launch. Imagine double shields, except Venture was here and could shoot directly under the shield (or through walls or whatever) and literally attack players for free if they tried to play bunker comps.
People would argue that’d force venture, but Overwatch is all about swapping to force the enemy to change or make them lose, so I’m fine with that. Or we could just put multiple shield invalidating characters in it. Maybe a character with a laser who could attack shields AND regain ammo to motivate people to move.
Of course, if said hero kept consistently getting nerfed, that’d be a problem too
Looks interesting but the textures are clearly unfinished, hopefully they look a lot better upon release.
And the burrowing underground animation - I hope they change that, it looks like a ball of rocks tumbling above the ground when it should more closely resemble… well… burrowing underground.
I think so, probably was just a placeholder at the time
Still people liking the esthetic and game play style will be subjective.
Will venture be a popular hero? I don’t have a clue
My guess is they wont be as popular as say kiriko was. Still i may be wrong
Typically they have wanted to release a new hero ‘on the safe side of strong’, because they were a part of the battlepass. They intentionally made them strong to incentivize purchasing the battlepass.
But now that they’ve announced new heroes will no longer be locked behind the battlepass, there’s no need for them to do this. So it is possible the new heroes won’t be released OP, or as OP they have been.
Lifeweaver is the only exception to that rule, but they learnt that lesson the hard way.
Probably not, Kiriko is what many would consider a waifu which probably boosted her popularity.
Looks like we finally got our Mei2.0 character.
I don’t know about y’all but ventures got a very bland looking design compared to some of the other heroes that came out recently.
Blizzard has a really bad history of throwing their employees to the wolves. Just look at Diablo 4 when they had level designers, I believe it was, play the game. The fans couldn’t believe how bad they were at the game. Instead of getting someone with actual gameplay experience, they pick someone who’s least suited to the task of showcasing.
Don’t be one of those people. Fictional characters do not have feelings and do not require that people respect their pronouns.
I honestly don’t understand how or why that is. Kiriko’s personality and condescending tone is horrendous
Someone on reddit said the “they don’t have feelings” excuse was poor because a nonbinary person hearing you still has feelings, so misgendering(?) the fictional character hurts them.
I think people are starting to take fiction too serious, but I don’t know what to do about it.
To be fair, media, even fiction does manipulate us and our opinions/beliefs to some degree.
Random example. Go google ‘Arrrryan race’ (without the extra R’s, word is banned here) and have your mind blown.
People on reddit say a lot of things, kind of like people on twitter. It doesn’t really hurt NB people if someone chooses not to respect a fictional character’s pronouns. They’re still getting representation, and the fictional character doesn’t have feelings or a will of its own to be offended.
As far as I’m concerned, the best thing for everyone to do is to just make up their own minds. If they want to use They/Them for Venture, so be it. If someone else wants to use She/Her, so be it. There’s no need to get upset about it if the character’s fictional.
Perhaps controversially, I’ve never been one to believe this. At least, it doesn’t manipulate us to a degree that’s an issue. For example, the TV isn’t going to make you racist unless you’re already racist. In fact, people have been shown to outright reject things they learn if it doesn’t conform to what they already believe.
I know its a common thing to say the media rots your brain, but I think that’s been overstated. Unless we’re talking about literal single digit children.
There’s a great video on Youtube.
‘Myran Fagan Red Stars of Hollywood’… Something along those lines.
It’s a 2 hour audio recording of a Hollywood screenwriter from the 60’s. He was a screenwriter for broadway before Hollywood was even incepted.
It’s an interesting watch. He exclaims that Hollywood was formed by the progenitor of the CIA, to be a tool to manipulate public opinion. And that movie stars of the era like James Dean and most of the big names, were secretly communists.
There’s no proof of course, just the words of someone from inside Hollywood at the time. They had taken people to the courts, and protested Hollywood for decades. Succeeded temporarily in convincing some of the public of the supposed true nature of Hollywood, but since Hollywood was supposedly funded and fueled by interests outside of America, other countries wanting to create divide and chaos from within, it was a fruitless cause.
We all know what the cesspool that parts of Hollywood has become today, ripe with pdf files and abusers. But Myran Fagan suggests it was always nefarious by design.
Community had PTSD for all new heroes. Except for JQ and Ra. Players have complained non-stop.
more aoe asked damage than direct impact damage
That’s not the issue at all.
Her issue is that she’s a glass cannon that’s no longer made out of glass. She got hard buffed with these HP changes considering her whole shtick is to have insane mobility but low health.
Her death breakpoints have changed considerably.
