Huh? You cant post in ow1 forums without owning ow1 so… Why would ppl who cannot play ow2 be able to post in ow2 forums?
Its very likely tied to the “FTUE” so that you just cant make a new account and spam the forums. You have to make a account, play OW2 until you have all base heroes (100 QP games) and then will be able to post here.
While this is kind of bad for people who want guidance its very good to stop spammers and people who dont even play the game to make posts.

Let it go, let it go! SMS protection has been a thing for almost a decade! (You just need to attach it to your Bnet account.) If your carrier doesn’t support it, (reach out to them.) Or as I said before. Get a real carrier, top ups and third world carriers have such cheap plans for a reason.
Stop trying to start arguments or defending a group of people that you are NOT a part of or affected by.
If someone has NEVER played OW. I like this idea of hitting milestones before opening chat for them. (Its also a way to curb the toxicity from banned or smurfing players.)

Why can’t I get in the game I have my phone number and I have metro PCs so what the issues I grind on Xbox all skin and dimond border and nothing I wasted my time playing overwatch then

this SMS garbage is just that, garbage! why does every account need it’s own phone number? what if say both mom and dad play as well as our kids? we only have 2 phones? you saying we need to get each of our kids a cell phone to play with us now? they better fix this, or get ready to refund a lot of people who can’t afford a phone just to play a game.
i feel like blizzard just did a bait and switch on people.

Can’t play overwatch 2 as of 2 and a 1/2 hours into the game still can’t connect to servers servers what was the point of having the game shut down for A-day

there is plenty to refund. first they took away the game a lot of people paid for and switched it for something that people can’t play for several reasons. my wife and i purchased the watchpack for overwatch2 besides we paid for the 1st overwatch, and the ultimate edition upgrades.
they basically pulled an old bait and switch on everyone.

Why does it matter? We can’t play the game anyways without giving into a security service we don’t want to use. We can’t play a game we bought nor the game designed to replace it. No thank you. I’m done with Blizzard until this is stopped.

People with Pre-Paid phone plans can’t play Overwatch 2. All of my friends cannot play because Pre-paid phone plans are the cheapest in my area. Do they need to get more expensive phone plans to play this free-to-play game? Some of them have had Overwatch 1 for years and can’t play Overwatch 2 because of this new phone rule.
