they were midtier at best, now theyre just bad. No they cant use their abilities to “close the gap.” They need their abilities to get kills, as theyre the only good part of their kit. Their gun is horrible with low damage, slow fire rate, no range, long reload, and only 8 shots. Plus they need an ability to escape as well since they have a large hitbox but regular health.
What’s up with that? They have a similar sized hitbox to mei and reaper, and are close range like them, but have 50 less health? why? if you’re going to say “well the shield health” that hardly counts as reaper and mei both get self healing on top of having 300 health. Venture should at least get 275 (maybe that extra 25 is shield health?)
Also their ult is terrible. Idk how to make it less terrible but god do i hate it. just had to put that out there.
Lol as someone who has been OTP Ven the last few weeks… the fact i have dueled over half the tank roster and won… please tell me again how this is not a skill issue?
Learn the cooldown management, learn the side routes, learn how to flank, if you do it right you can take out both supports and the tank by yourself… I have done it a few times, and i am nowhere near good.
Lol no, Venture gets extra health for free on ability use, would be a different story if they got it from damage dealt by ability rather then getting it for free.
I disagree with comparing it to other abilities, especially when burrow is a get out of jail free card. Also Venture is still a great pick in general yeah the nerfs burr them but their still one of the stronger DPS heroes at the moment.
Yeah, this can’t be understated. DPS move FAST and when you can’t run anymore, even when a corner is turned, you’re very likely to get popped off by Cass or gunned down by 76 before you can burrow. Feels like a merge of Sombra and Brig
Venture is literally DPS Doomfist, if DPS Doomfist had a 4 second Invulnerability and 0 skill to play.
Also, her Ult is easily one of the strongest DPS ults in the game. High burst damage and a knock up with a massive range? Yeah, there’s no competition.
Also, she’s the only DPS who can actually 1v1 Tanks and have a fair chance of coming out on top.
Just a massive skill issue on your part. Venture needs hard nerfs.

its 130 dmg a shot, less than 1shot a second. its so easy to out heal, not even with an ult, just regular healing is enough. Not to mention so easy to run away from as its only a 12 degree angle, and its buggy af and you can just jump over it half the time. It’s also a little shorter than earthshatter. But of course that also has a 54 degree angle.
Venture is fairly easy to play, but its not really a mechanics based hero. Most DPS players are more mechanics focused rather than tactic focused heroes. You see people pick up widow, cass, s76, ashe, tracer, etc. rather than the more strategic picks. Venture to me fits solidly into the less aim, more tactics DPS.
They have an incredibly safe approach and retreat all in the same combo. Drill rush → dive → drill rush. Drill rush gets you in, and if angled upwards, you can transition into a burrow immediately or you might stay around a bit for a couple of shots before burrowing in for retreat. Since you can travel around 25m underground and fully refresh your drill rush which you can pop out and use drill rush again to escape. OR you can use drill rush for extra damage, attention drawing, and refresh drill rush.
At any point in this you can branch off into either kill chase or retreat mind set. Most venture players are like Reinhardt mains who’s brain only understand 1 idea. ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK and before you know it the Venture’s died 10 times and gone negative KDR.
They have no nuance over approaching from different angles or getting to high ground to rein down AoE explosion damage. Little idea of biding your time for a good chance to go in. Even less idea on sometimes its best to just get out of there even if someone is at low hp.
There are times its good to suicide into a support player, but you need to know the situation to make that call. Otherwise, when you can get your kill combo, its one of the easier kill combos to pull off. Drill rush set-ups a point blank shot for you. Burrow sets up a shot for you as well and does 1/4 of a heroes HP. YOu can end it with a dirll rush → shoot → melee in quick order all in close range for like 150 hp or even high partial damage.
