Tips to get 400fps solid? Full specs of my pc are in bio ow_six twitch (Idk I can’t post links here it seems)
I got the 10700k on the Z490 Unify board @ 5ghz all cores. I swapped the 32gb (4x8) team group vulcan ram running at 16-18-18-38 on XMP (3000mhz but it was running 3200mhz on stock xmp timings) out for 16gb (2x8) Patriot Viper ddr4 4133mhz (crap timings at that speed 19-21-21-41 ) and have it running stable at 3600mhz CL14-14-14-34 tRFC 350. > Reddit claims much more than 3600mhz is diminishing returns so having 3600mhz at CL14 with such tight secondarys and such… shouldnt this be an ideal setup for 400fps? Idk what more to do than 5ghz all cores with 16gb of 3600mhz CL14-14-14-34 . Whats the limiting factor here ya think cpu speed or ram speed? Seems i dont drop below 360fps ever so I am pretty close.
All OW settings are low Or off except 100% render scale, Medium textures.
I am currently. Tested the 32gb 3200 cl16 tested this 16gb 3600mhz cl14 gunna try to test this ram at its OG clock speeds 4133mhz cl19 and see. If theres very little diff across all 3 I think it might just be my single core speed on the cpu Dont think a 10700k has it in it to do 400fps solid lol. Sadly this is where ryzen shines, a 5950x at 4.6 holds 400 solid at cl15 3733 for days >:(
wish i had that setup i can get up to 325 max but can only maintain a constant 225 with low settings. cant really tell my whole setup just that i have a i7-6700k with a 2080ti graphics card.
my monitors refresh rate is only 144 mhz but i heard its still best to max out your frames for lower latency?
You found your hardware’s limit. I doubt you can get more frames unless you spent more money on better equipment. (Unless you drop your render scale which isn’t a good idea).
Can’t say I feel sorry for you though. You are either obsessed over the smallest, unimportant things (360 frames isn’t going to affect your perception from 400), or you are just flexing about your setup.
Higher framerate means that the average time to start and end a frame is closer to the point in time where it’s sent to the display, minimizing the latency there.
But realistically when you’re talking about 200+fps the gains on a 144hz display are going to be extremely minimal. At that point, capping your framerate has the added advantages of having more consistent frame pacing, and also reducing hardware load which means lower temps.
You do realize that 400 fps cap with good 1% and .1% lows = lowest input lag possible right? Also when your a widow/hitscan at the top 1% you kinda wana try and get every edge you possibly can. Why would I be flexing the most budget ram kits out there? Or a 2070 super? Or a 10700k? You realize this is budget/mid level setup right? Haha… sorry not sorry to burst your bubble though I see you were to busy trying to call me out for flexing pretty mediocre gear but failed to realize that FPS is more than just looks on a screen + I am way above the 240hz refresh rate of my monitor. Please look into input lag reduction and 1%/.1% lows & please for the sanity of others dont make a cap around refresh rate comment till you read up on dyac. facepalm
Capping with Gsync/freesync if you can’t hold say 300 with good 1%/.1% low benchmarks is ideal yeah. But if you have the setup to do that & or more you might as well take the big SIM drop imo. I mean I can cap at 250fps and cap at 350 fps & hold both solid but I dont see a single fluctuation in temps but I have pretty decent cooling for what air/aio can provide with a simple fan controller/pump controller. Peak around 54 gpu with a 1:1 msi afterburner fan curve and 60c on CPU.
It ain’t no custom loop or waterblocked 3090 or flagship anything or even B DIE ram LOL but hey apparently we out here flexin’ the setup asking how to get more out of something that isn’t high end at all sorry for askin amiright
Well in my particular case my PC is in a room upstairs so all the hot air accumulates. So the less hot air pumped into my room for those long gaming sessions, the better
Side note on that post, though - I agree there’s definitely better, but I dont think I’d call what you have a budget PC :). Probably lower high end.
Ah i see ! Makes sense.
& thanks man yeah I wasn’t trying to flex at all but of course the guy that comes on the forums to solely look for drama related posts and go ham on them has to show up here (Look at his forum history XD)… I mean it’s a decent pc sure & I just wondered if someone super techy here had some ideas for me is all. Didn’t mean to flex at all I ain’t that kinda person at all… Just tryna do the best with what I got
I suspect that you’re limited by the hardware itself, specifically the CPU. 360fps seems on the upper end for the CPU that you listed, so I’m actually impressed that you got it that high. At this point you’d probably have to drop your render scale to see any more improvements, which is what a fair number of pros do.
It’s no 3090 but that seems a bit of a reach considering how the average person plays on a 1050ti or a 1060.
Oh, it can probably be done. Having it stay at 400+ is another story.
I have mine locked to my Acer Predator GSync monitor at 144hz. Butter smooth and responsive. Was that way on my older gen 2 i7 dual channel with 32GB and a GTX980 Strix, and runs the same with my newer gen 7 i3 dual channel 8GB with a GTX1660. Though the memory chokes me at times. (I have an upgrade planned) It was a quick ITX throw together that I built from spare parts lying around and takes up 1/5th the space of the older beast and uses 1/3 less power yet yields about the same performance result. One of these days I will build a new beast. Both systems run fine though. I just needed a newer box to run 10 on.
