Tracer Damage needs to be 5.5 not 6

Tracer Damage needs to be 5.5 not 6, the original 5 was too low, the current 6 is too high. Split the difference and nerf doom.

It is probably not possible to use decimals, otherwise I see no reason why they wouldn’t have done that already.

If it is not possible, another solution would be to take out bullets (or add for buff) of her magazines. Say, if she had only 38 bullets instead of 40 (19 in each gun instead of 20), that would effectively be a 5% nerf (instead of the incredible 15% nerf she got).

given her fire rate, and ammo, you can change her damage by tweaking them for sure.

Yes, the RoF would have to be adjusted if the magazines are, so the guns unload in the same amount of time as before.

I doubt they will nerf her dmg. Blizzard has clearly shown they balance for all ranks now. Tracer is in the same situation as Sojourn where 5 dmg makes her playable at gm/top 500 but a throw pick in low ranks. Similar to Sojourn who is a must pick at top 500 and merely a decent pick in lower ranks.

And in workshop you can adjust damage and see HP with decimals, so it is just that Bliz does not care, and they want Tracer to be played again.

Oh, ok, well that would make it very easy to tweak her damage.
I don’t understand why they are so fixated on 5 and 6 damage then.

Messing with a heros flow is the worst

They did decimal changes for Reaper.

So it’s probably possible.

No, if you adjust the RoF to match the altered bullet count, then it would exactly not do anything to the flow.

The only problem would be that less bullets would make bigger “holes” in her spray area, which means increased RNG.
RNG is already a factor, but I have never heard anyone besides Kabaji complain about it.

I think the simplest answer is often more likely to be correct: They’re incompetent.

I agree, seeing that decimal numbers is indeed possible (see the discussion on Reaper damage per pellet above).

It seems incredibly halfassed to just nerf by a whole number, when it is an incredible 16.6% nerf. It is hard to believe alot of rigorous testing went into that one.

In this case though, it doesn’t.
It is regular damage per second.

Remember you could rather than move from 5 to 5.5 damage per second, you could increase her fire rate and ammo by 10%

And it achieves the same thing, and as a side effect, makes her more consistent.

It does, it makes it so her Pistols empty faster, it messes with her flow.

Then if ure just increasing the ammo to compesate, why in the world not just change her damage numbers?

It was me speculating that it was not possible to do decimal numbers (I saw no other reason they were so fixated on 5 and 6 damage), and in that case this would be an alternative.
But it has been cleared up by now that decimal numbers is indeed possible, so the discussion is really over.
