LOGGED ONLY 1 REPORT TODAY. WEEKEND WAS A MASSIVE CHEAT FEST
i don’t really see any cheaters but thats just me tbh.
Cheating has been noticeably more common for the last two seasons, which is probably why Blizzard is finally cracking down on Ximming.
It’s also probably worthwhile to note that Bungie just won a precedent-setting case against a cheat company - I will be interested to see if other game companies start filing similar suits against companies that make software and hardware cheats.
The Ars Technica article: “Bungie wins landmark suit against Destiny 2 cheat-maker AimJunkies”
" They wanted to make money by selling cheating tools to Destiny 2 players. They may have ended up setting US legal precedent.
After a trial in federal court in Seattle last week, a jury found cheat-seller AimJunkies, along with its parent company Phoenix Digital and four of its employees and contractors, liable for copyright infringement and assigned damages to each of them. The jury split $63,210 in damages, with $20,000 to Phoenix Digital itself and just under $11,000 each to the four individuals. That’s just under the $65,000 revenue the defendants claimed to have generated from 1,400 copies of its Destiny 2 cheats.
Bungie’s case appears to have gone further than any other game-cheating suit has made it in the US court system. Because cheating at an online game is not, in itself, illegal, game firms typically lean on the anti-circumvention aspects of the 1998 Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA). That’s how the makers of Grand Theft Auto V, Overwatch, Rainbow Six, and Fortnite have pursued their cheat-making antagonists. Bungie, in taking their claim past settlement and then winning a copyright claim from a jury, has perhaps provided game makers a case to point to in future proceedings, and perhaps more incentive.
AimJunkies may still appeal the jury verdict; Phoenix Digital founder David Schaefer told Stephen Totilo that [he planned to fight the verdict.
A separate arbitration ruling focused on DMCA violations, which granted Bungie $4.4 million in damages and fees from AimJunkies, remains under appeal, with AimJunkies claiming the arbitrator “blatantly disregarded” arbitration terms…"
It’s horrible during the weekends, but it’s still bad during week days as well at the moment, and it keeps getting worse.
Fortunately not everyone are as gullible as the people who claim there’s no cheating in this game.
You can make those claims all you want but alas, it doesn’t work, when there is an overwhelming amount of evidence out there on the internet to counter all the moot arguments on this forum where people claim that there’s no cheater problem etc.
If you don’t know what to look for, or if you’re one of those players who’ve turned off their kill-cams and never watches a single replay or never find anything sus, then yeah you won’t see them, but trust me, they’re everywhere.
Cheating really should be criminalized and cheaters punished by a new global law, on top of the people making the cheats.
I keep getting GMs in my game but in ranked I’m only gold. Entire teams of GMs /shrug.
Here’s another case and a very recent one at that.
BREAKING: Activision has been granted default judgement in its court case against cheat provider EngineOwning.
Judge ruled EngineOwning owes Activision $14.45M in damages and $292,900 in legal fees.
Judge ruled EngineOwning website domain must be transferred to Activision.
I am all for the death penalty and if that is not a option then we deport cheaters to Singapore and hide a bag of weed in their luggage.
Put them all on an island in the pacific, far from civilization.
To kind, their ruined my fav hobby which is playing FPS games.
Deporting them to Singapore with a bag of weed will get them the death penalty anyway.
Lets see if getting a unfair advantage is worth risking your life, to bad cheating is normalized to the point the distributors by adds on google and they even get country specific payment methods which is not easy.
It became worse after it became f2p because you had to buy the game before after you got banned. It doesn’t matter what anti cheat they use, even the valorant kernel level anti cheat won’t able to stop them. They will always find a new way to bypass them and what stops them from making a new account, spoof their hwid and use vpn to cheat again on new fresh throwaway accounts?
Haven’t seen any for a while.
I got told I was hacking 2 or so days ago. The Ashe couldn’t comprehend getting killed like 10 times in a row with headshots…
Honey, if you scope in 24/7 and don’t look around you are going to get arrows in your head.
Half of the time the reports are false because people have no idea what hacking actually looks like, it’s just “they hit a lota shots, huurrrrr duuurrrr, must be hacking”.
I have personally seen maybe 6-7 hackers so far this year and most of them using subtle aimbot and very blatant walls.
Yeah well we had people complain about verification that would have helped curb the cheating issues but it got removed and now anyone can have 30 accounts and cheat to their hearts content lol.
They never removed verification for new accounts, only old ones got it removed.
Many players have been able to create accounts without the need for any cellular verification, this has been noted on the forums, on steam and other platforms. Not to mention you can pretty much use any number now when originally it was only contract numbers.
The sms verification has become redundant.
Too busy winning to notice recently.
It’s a video game. Cheating at a video game should not be criminalized. Maybe publishers should be able to sue cheat devs for damages, but throwing people in prison for aimbotting is ridiculous.
That would be great if people get jailed like in Korea for boosting or cheating.
You need to register your KSSN to play online games over there… so if you got caught cheating enjoy the jail time or fine.
Just do not cheat, its that simple.
I logged off tonight the game was so bad. Every team seemed to have either insane shooting skills or were using aim bots. It was insane. One bloodbath after another. I’ve never thought this is so bad I can’t play before, until tonight, I just logged out and thought what is the point.
If they weren’t using gaming aids then some heroes really need an extremely hard nerf. It was just stupid. Average players won’t continue to play it like it was tonight.
This is the first time I’ve thought the game was unplayable.
