“Current gaming laws in South Korea prohibit the development, distribution or sharing of gaming hacks. Penalties currently stand at a maximum of one year in prison or a fine of 10 million won ($7,690) . However, the use of these hacks by gamers is not explicitly illegal.”
They are targeting cheat developers, not gamers who cheat. If the cheats were not developed in SK there is no way they’re able to go after them.
I don’t know… I’ve never been against someone who was so good that I could only conclude they were cheating.
And then with threads about cheaters, when I ask “what gave the cheater away?” the common response is “oh well I couldn’t actually tell, but they were playing really well and it made me suspicious”.
But I get they’re becoming harder to detect, as well.
Well we know that in any sort of societal unrest or uprising, your kind will be the first to go to the gulag, so there’s that at least.
I don’t cheat and my posts here will show I have a history of complaining about cheaters. I just don’t think fascism is a reasonable solution for cheaters, though I do think “people” like you deserve to live under this system somewhere in the world to see how great it is.
i just finish my daily quickplay session. game is miserable enough… throwing hackers (2 games tonight in my 3 hour session) into the mix is the nail in the coffin. Think i’m done until they officially address this
That was me, that’s pretty much all you can do as it also keeps them out of the loop longer, but problem with OW is there are to few players to make cheater only servers as they would figure out in no time due to high queue times and seeing the same few people over and over.
There is no solution really and the entire FPS genre is dying because of how normalized cheating has become.
U would need to do this globally as these people will just move to countries that wont jail them for it as they actually make ridiculous amount of money with creating cheats.
The only way is to make using cheats (the external ones) punishable as more and more people cheat because there are so many cheaters they go and cheat themselves and most cheaters realize there is no real consequence to cheating or even being caught.
If you scare the cheaters out of cheating by making the punishment severe enough its not worth it you also indirectly limit the financial reward for those who make cheats due to the costumer pool shrinking.
