Tier List for Season 3 so far

You don’t have to. Killing people is the best value you can get and doing so in one-shot is the best you can get. Widow and Hanzo will always be S-tier as long as their primaries function the way they do with Widow being a tiny bit better due to hitscan and both having wallhacks on top of the one-shots. It’s not the character’s fault the player may not be able to aim. There is no way Widow is below Cass when she easily kit-diffs him by default. You don’t need Tracer distracting the backline when you can instantly kill them from your own backline, you don’t need to pocket Widow and Hanzo for them to one-shot from across the map, and you don’t need to worry about dying while capping the point when everyone is dead, You don’t need to worry about Hammond when you can kill multiple of his teammates before he even gets to you. Seems like some characters are placed in this list according to their potential when played by someone who can play them and others are downplayed due to personal bias but that’s to be expected with a subjective tier list. It just seems like this tier list is comparing a gold Hanzo to a masters Hammond but if both are hitting their shots and can play the character, Hanzo is not multiple tiers below the hamster.

Tracer has the highest but apparently Cassidy is extremely close to hers and is almost tied with her in play rate and winrate.

That’s not the point why hanzo is lower tiered than the rest… Why would i place characters lower tiers because of a player’s inability to use them? that makes no sense

Once again, why in what way would i be comparing vastly different skill sets to make a tier list?

and as for “if both hit their shots” explain to me who would win that engagement 99.99 of the time? Hanzo is lower tier because you’re better off playing other heroes to gain more value and consistency when often times requires less effort. It’s the idea that the C tier heroes generally have you shooting yourself in the foot and trying to make them work, while other heroes don’t have that much of a problem. They’re generally a lot hard erto get value out of but still playable nonetheless.

not true, If Sigma or Winston go to S tier it pulls widow off S tier because 1. Winston hard counters her and 2. Sigmas shield prevents her shots when managed properly. Also the reintroduction of hard damage fall off weighs against Widow if they wanted to do that again.

thats the whole idea behind laddered Tier lists, while Ball is great in GM he is a throw pick for bronze because of player skill.

Was this from the dev update/blog? I saw them mention tracer and McCree being omnipresent but they didn’t list McCree in their highest (unmirrored winrate I’m guessing) heroes

Yeah the recent blog post it was mentioned

Could you link it? The “Directors Take” doesn’t mention McCree’s winrate at all so perhaps I’ve missed something

If we’re talking about Hammond v Hanzo as opposed to a Hammond in the game and a Hanzo in the game, both playing their hero well, this tier list is even more messed up but if the latter is the point, Hanzo is oneshotting multiple people before his Hammond even swings/rolls to them.

It may take more effort to learn that hero but not to actually get rewarded way more when you do. Widow and Hanzo are the two best characters to learn how to play because when you do, the payoff they have outweighs the majority of the others by a large margin and with much lower risk. If you know how to play Hanzo, you’re not shooting yourself in the foot to try to make him work, if you’re talking about picking him up and learning mid-match, the same can be said about a lot of the characters in tiers above him, even Tracer and Hammond. Other heroes have to travel to a certain range and don’t have wallhacks or easy ways to get to high ground and when they get into fights, they have to land multiple instances of damage via primary/secondary fire and/or abilities yet Hanzo has to land one shot, Widow has to land one shot. In Hanzo’s case, he also has storm arrows which makes landing that killing blow much easier. Can you aim? if so, Hanzo isn’t hard to get value out of and the better you are at aiming, the better the value gets.

Winston does not hard counter Widow and never has. He has an easier time than some of the other tanks but Winston does not shutdown nor does he hard counter Widow. Even if he does manage to kill her, there is ample time for her to kill multiple of his teammates while on his way to her.

Widow can launch over his shield, if you ever fight a good Widow, she will actually move around the barrier instead of just shooting at it and if she has that common sense, her team has the common sense to capitalize on the Sigma barrier trying to stop their Widow and not in front of Sigma and/or the rest of his own team.

you have zarya at the lowest

bro you can actually get away with 150dps death ray in the backline with no self preservation and come out with 2 kills pretty often all off of decent tracking and good bubble timing alone

zarya is so slept on its unjust
