Like or hate the balance changes, can we all just talk about how good this experimental was? We had a nice healthy balance of bumping up some struggling heroes, and bringing down some strong ones, as well as a nice mix of all categories.
One thing that always sucks on experimental is when they only do changes for 1 or 2 heroes, that role has like 8 minute queues, and overall this patch allows all roles to have a lot to test out. Please, more like this.

changes were very weird, and most were not what was needed
sigma and orisa will be even harder to use as solo barrier tanks, but sigma will probably be still picked a lot with a rein or orisa. in fact, double barrier will still probably not go away. its kind of sad that the devs are willing to keep gutting both sigma and orisa instead of just reworking sigma and reverting orisa
sym will get more elims per death, but i don’t think it will help sym mains who already dont know how to get value from her existing playstyle. also syms turrets still only do 30dps on console compared to 34 on pc. console syms lose out on 12 to 40ish damage per combo when attacking enemies using turrets compared to pc syms. her turrets are next to useless on those platforms and need to be brought up to 34 dps
hog is a victim of double barrier meta, made obsolete by sigma. instead of reworking the primary source of the tank roster problems (sigma), it seems the devs are prepared to drastically change all the underperforming tanks instead.
who asked for pharah changes? she just recently got a revert to her missle damage and mercy healing beam buff of 55hps in like the same month. the half second shorter duration of barrage will help her a little, but all everyone asked for her was being able to cancel her ult mid use. pharahmercy is already a nuisance on console again, the 20% movement buff is just gonna make her a must pick on console in masters and up. if you were gonna give her this movement buff then her missle splash damage shouldn’t have been reverted
Zen changes make no sense. It just makes Zen a more of a spam damage hero which the game absolutely needed right now… none of this helps him with his current problems:
-doesn’t have enough heals for teammates because of so much burst damage in game
-is a sitting duck when dived

idk, pharah mains who have been going through hell?
I don’t play console so obviously I can’t say anything, but the two nerfs outweigh this buff massively and she’s not gonna be any better on pc. Blizzard should do platform exclusive changes in these cases, though.

As someone who has 1400 hours on console I can tell you right now that people on console who complain about pharah are just really bad. She is not that hard to deal with lol

The HP nerf for Brig in it was too much, but everything else felt pretty good IMO.

Yeah but I’m talking about outside of the changes themselves, moreso how many changes we got and how diverse they were across the roles.

if i didnt like the balance changes…why would i say its good?
its a terrible ExC tbh
the characters they changed is allright, just not the changes they did

Oh yeah, I agree on that front as well.

Well as I said I’m talking about the playability. Like, yeah the changes were mediocre but it was diverse and made actually playing the experimental fun and varied.
Its pretty lame when its just changes for genji and moira because then those heroes get instalocked and no one else really gets to do anything.

Rein/Sigma: Allow us to introduce ourselves…
Yep, as much as I hate some of the exc changes I’m glad the devs are putting more effort into making larger changes and moving the meta.
I just hope they drop some stuff from the patch prior to pushing to live, before it becomes ptr 2.0
Why Rein/Sig?
The meta is still double shield and if it changes it’ll probably be Winston/Zarya

It would’ve been better if Rein and Ana also got hit with nerfs, but it’s good otherwise.
2300hp vs 1300hp. It’s a really big gap.
Yeah but Rein can also do way less than Orisa when their barriers are up.
Orisa also has impact on the fight way sooner than Rein, and Rein requires something to close the gap to Orisa/Sig while Orisa/Sig don’t.

The proposed pharah changes are a nerf. To a struggling hero. How is this good?

pharah as a hero is pretty bad and very easy to counter on console. its only pharahmercy which is the problem.
if the other team is running a pharahmercy on a good pharah map, along side a sniper or junkrat you basically have to run at least two of the following:
-double barrier (or a good dva)
-a really good widow
-mercy pocket on a hitscan paired with another main healer
-double hitscan
-mirror enemy dps
if you even think of running flanker dps, projectile dps, or low heals you already lost

Again, its good in the context of who and how many, not what

Idk if the card was good or not overall, but the way they aggressively did it was what we needed for sure.
This is quite an aggressive testing for some heroes and it’s actually a good theorical way to go and experience things that wouldn’t work or be extremely broken if they came out of it afterwards.
