For your own sake, NEVER work in quality assurance as clearly you don’t care for it.
He said, “We have no plans to revert Mercy.” and “But I’d like to put the notion that Mercy is going to be reverted to rest.”
He did not say that Mercy will never be reverted, or will never be reworked.
The time in which he said “We don’t feel like Mercy needs changes right now.” is no longer a viable assertion, as Mercy literally was just changed again.
That was one quote.
Of the 4.
Also, assuming someone would do something because they didn’t say they wouldn’t is not a great idea.
“Just because your SO said they won’t cheat on you doesn’t mean they won’t later” is basically what you just said.
Those were pieces of two separate quotes.
Please show me the other two.
Consider why he didn’t say that they wouldn’t. They’re leaving it as an option.
Taking that analogy, we have proof that said person is cheating.
You sound like you have an obsession with mercy players, ever heard of staying in your own lane?
Well, if we all stayed in our own lane, developers would ignore us and players wouldn’t have any say in balance.
So stay in your own lane lol
I do stay in my lane, that’s why i dont reply to 100 mercy threads daily like you
You did this recently in the declining state Overwatch has been in.
Also failed to validate any player issues that have been addressed making this post one sided.
I for one think its inexcusable to forgive Blizzard when they have an obvious job to do.
Negative feedback means the consumers the customer are having issues with experiences on the platform.
Which as a normal business standard must be addressed no matter how silly. Yet blizzard never loses face or rep or hype because of hopefuls fighting back as if the casual fans are the enemy of some sort.
While not knowing how hurtful they themselves are to the progression of a company’s growth.
They also said that Mercy is in a good spot months ago and guess what? We got another nerf.
While yes a lot of people want a revert, many also want another rework, cause we do not want what is happening to Mercy to continue, her kit getting gutted now because they are too proud and refuse to let go of rez as regular ability
and here i’m thinking the devs didnt want to respond as its sunday. i dont know about you, but i sure af dont work on sunday …
/s
seriousness aside, the reason theyre not responding is theyre not here … theyre over on COD getting that ready.
Scared of what exactly? What part of the game is broken?
devs responding to any would fix it…
I don’t think people want the devs to answers to their threads, but I feel like a monthly (at least) summury about what’s being done (or not and why) by the team could be much appreciated. Don’t need that much of an effort, just a 30 lines post on the forum saying :
“ok we saw, you think there’s x and y issues, x won’t be fixed because reason, we are working on y currently and pretty positive it will be ok soon, also we have new features coming, we will tell you when time comes”
It wouldn’t be huge, but, still something. So people could see that their feedbacks are important.
I haven’t replied to 100 mercy threads. I’ve hardly replied to a dozen, if even close to that.
What Mercy related posts have I responded to that I didn’t make? Please, I’d love to see them.
We’re paying customers, they do owe us to an extent. The least they could do is pop around here and answer some of our questions and concerns, maybe give us insight towards future updates and whatnot.
I’m not saying they should do this everyday but ya know…
OWL matches aren’t rigged by Blizzard. If they were then they wouldn’t have allowed the Shanghai Dragons to suck nearly as much as they did.
By not answering they’re making people more annoyed and increasing negative posts.
If they answered, the amount of negative posts would no doubt decrease.
lmao
That tinfoil hat on a little too tight?
No, we’ve already seen this multiple times.
For example, Symmetra mains spent months saying “Just say something about our hero. Even if it’s a ‘she’s fine as she is’, we’ll be happy that you at least acknowledge us.”
Then comes a developer update, saying that they don’t really want to change Symmetra too much, and that it’s okay for some heroes to only be viable in specific situations.
Boy howdy, the lashback they got from that was insane. So many people were pissed at Blizzard for being okay with the idea of “niche heroes”.
Another classic example is the entire subject of reverting Mercy.
Jeff has specifically said that they will not do that, and saying so didn’t quell anything. In fact, the forums got riled up for a while because of that post too, once again saying he was wrong to think that way.
The devs commenting here is like kicking a hornets nest 90% of the time, because most forum goers don’t want to hear the official opinion, they want to hear that they’re right.
Well what do you expect?
- There are countless bugs on countless characters forever now even as long as 1-2 years (sombra, reinhardt, etc) that have not been adressed or dealt with.
- A change was made to mercy on PTR which plenty of people pointed out was way too strong and needed to be worked on. Yet it was released directly to live servers and became the meta for the next 11 months which both annoyed the dps players because you just “undo” their kill and the support players because they were forced to play her AND the mercy community who disliked the playstyle and had to go through 12 nerfs.
- The game has just become a slot machine by now. 99% of the developer’s attention is drawn to the overwatch league. This is the 3rd time in a row we get the summer event and we only still get lucioball.
- Instead of giving more to the actual playerbase, they made skins and emotes that you can only access through a paywall which promotes their OWL. It’s evident that they tested the community with the mercy skin to see how much people are willing to pay. Only this time because it’s not for “charity”, they halved the price but still … instead of creating content for the people who play their game they are busy promoting their OWL on TV and creating content that is only accessible through OWL-related content.
- Yet after all this, there is no response from the dev team adressing ACTUAL concerns that people have, instead they only reply to posts like “got problems with my keybinds” or whatever.
We all paid for this game and some of us more than once. So explain to me how exactly people are expected to stay calm when they see their favorite game take a turn in a way that shows that the company is resorting to only milking the cow past it’s limits.
I mean they:
- Make buffs and nerfs based on the OWL and the OWL players.
- Release OWL related paywall content for $$$
- Make money through OWL ticket sales
- Make money through advertisements on OWL
So what is left for the community? We have content drought, feedback drought and all we get to see is “hey if you pay X amount you can have this cool thing that regular non paying players don’t have”.
People get aggrevated when you try to money-milk them and at this point it’s getting pretty obvious to say the least.
I mean take LoL for example. There’s hardly any skin worth 15$ and even if it’s the case, you still get extra’s and the skin changes colors or appearances during the match AND you can still obtain them through the random lootboxes.
I mean … I paid for 3 accounts.
I stopped playing my mercy account because of the weirdass changes and endless nerfs.
I stopped playing my sombra account because instead of fixing the bugs that have been around for a year now they just change her back and forth depending on how the Pro’s got out of bed this morning.
I stopped playing my tank account because I am getting really bored with the perma stun bs that doesn’t even allow you to WALK 10 m without being knocked back up or straight up stunned.
But that’s just my opinion on it. The game used to be way more fun. A lot more people actually used to play and stream this game. I mean look at Tim’s last video about overwatch. It’s becoming a joke to say the least.
