Team composition is important, random humans don’t co-operate particularly well as a rule. Many people want play a certain role but don’t do it well, which frustrates their team mates as if they’re healers they don’t get peels, if they’ damage they don’t get heals or tanks, and if they’re tanks they don’t get heals or or damage to back them up. This leads to people picking characters based on either “not playing the objective” or “ability to survive solo”, which further erodes the idea of a viable team comp, and creates a negative loop.
This is further amplified in QP where you have the dichotomy of “it’s quickplay so i’m entitled to do whatever i want, even at the cost of my team mates enjoyment” attitude versus the “It’s quickplay lets still play the objective” mindset.
Essentially it’s experience not living up to expectations. Also humans are awful.

LoL isnt that frustrating as OW. Not sure about Dota coz I didnt played it long enough. Thing is OW is way more team depending, unlike LoL where you can feed ur way to win.

OW is way more rage inducing than LOL, in LOL at least you can surrender without penalty, OW forces me to stick out till we lose or take leaver penalty), and I can mute the pings form that guy pinging Baron ever 10 seconds, in OW i have to listen to Genji spam “i need healing” every 10 seconds even if he’s on full health and i’m dead.

If the game was 4v4 or 5v5 these problems would be alleviated, not enough individual skill shines through km this game with teams being so big. Makes it ridiculously hard to carry.

OW does have some rage inducing factors. I can play most games without getting annoyed, even when stuff is going wrong. But OW competitive? That can really get annoying at times+it’s badly setup design wise, so I avoid it in general and haven’t been back in since season 4 or season 5.
OW QP is fine for the most part.

OW is rather rage inducing, but not quite at the level of World of Tanks or PUBG.
PUBG in particular is really rage inducing since 10% of its population consists of hackers, 90% of which come from China as Chinese players love to mess with NA and European players.
And the more competitive you try to be in PUBG the more hackers you face. The tournaments that game has get filled with cheaters and hackers trying to out cheat and out hack each other.
I personaly dont rage if enemy team wins, trample us or outplay us… also not rage alot if someone kills me… Only situation when I mild rage is when someone kills me with random fired stuff, like dying form random jukrat lobs, random fired phara rocket etc.
However when I see those yellow fonts “Player left the game” I turn into monster, in that moment I think im capable of anything, I get mini nerve breakdown… Devil posses me for next 3 minute. Thats mybe trauma because 2/3 loses in this game is leaver issued.

I actually got so much rage or w/e it was, my stomach started to hurt ( not joking )
I didnt feel well, and i realized it was from this game, because i was mad while playing ( because i was losing thanks to good picks 5dps who constantly were dying ) when i stopped playing i knew it was because of this crap game. So i just uninstalled. I feel much better nowadays. #forumsstillfun

FPS games in general often leave you feeling frustrated.
I… can’t entirely agree. Stuff like Halo, Battlefield never really got me salty. Destiny did a little bit in game 1, not very much, Destiny 2 did a bit more. I gotta agree with OP that Overwatch is pretty unique among FPS games in its ability to make me salty.
At least for me, it’s the fact that it requires actual teamwork. Which, you know. People are awful at, sometimes even if you’re in a chat together. Also the fact that some characters rely on what feel like extremely cheap mechanics that can just outright deny another character that depends heavily on skill. Stuff like that.

Because many people are forced to confront the idea that they aren’t as good as they think they are. This upsets them.
Overwatch is a selfless game with a selfish playerbase. It’s frustrating, because it basically the win condition in ranked isn’t “play better than the other team”, it’s “pray that you get 6 people willing to cobble together a half-decent comp”.
Overwatch is an amazing game when you play it as it’s meant to be played, when you’ve got 6 people willing to work together and counter whatever the enemy tries to throw at you while they try and do the same.
But the amount of games I get like that are disappointingly low. Most of my games are won or lost in spawn because one team has players that decided “screw the team, I’m going to do what I want”, and Overwatch isn’t meant to be played like that.
