There is nothing you can do to prevent the community hating Sym

It’s just sad but true. She’s simultaneously useless and no-skill OP. Go to any stream when there’s a Sym. Chat goes nuts “booing” them. Look at how Sym players are treated. Look at how discussion of Sym buffs is received.

I think we just need to accept that the community is going to stay stuck in 2016 when it comes to the queen.

Imagine playing Rein/Orisa and get burned 180hp/s or you shield. Or getting killed by turrets placed in nasty locations (like trampoline on Oasis City Center). Her teleport let be her teammates 10 seconds faster in fight or push behind enemies line.
EDIT: Or combos like ice bombing or teleporting dva nerf

I hate her as much as I hate torn.

No character should have something that is completely autonomous and requires no control from the player. Yet has perfect aim and is basically completely unearned free damage.

It is sadly the same thing with Moira, Mei, Widow, and Doomfist. They will always be hated no matter what state they are in.

Sym however seems to have it the worst. With Moira being very close or second.

Relish in the hate. Allow it to nourish and empower you.
Nothing is better than taking the precious elo from the haters. Order will be restored friend

Sym is low-key one of the highest skill dps heroes but the opinion and agreement of the forums or the broader community should mean nothing to you lol. We can see from OWL that even the best hitscan players in the game have nothing other than mechanics on their sym. No finesse, no 5Head tp plays, and their hero specific movement weak. They don’t play her vs coordinated dive or double sniper, only for her m1 In a full deathball pocket. Boring, uninspired, and frankly WAYY less skillful…

I genuinely believe there’s only about 10 people in the world who can actually play symmetra…but the community will believe what they believe :joy::joy:

I’ve been having a lot of fun countering widows and dooms with sym past few days. Few hours ago beat a grandmaster pharah one trick with her mercy pocket on Busan lmao. Ppl will say syms just get carried but they don’t understand how the game actually works, let alone syms kit specifically .

Oh well! All the easier to take their Sr if they don’t want to learn how she works

Well, fortunately that is why she is not getting buffed anytime soon. Heck, she steps one toe out of line and they will bludgeon her with more nerfs.

Every action causes an equal and opposite reaction.

The Symm community has way too much love for the hero to the point of praising her as some “sassy queen” so to speak, to which the rest of the community views that as cringy, therefore stimulating a disliking for the Symm community.

It’s kind of like a pendulum

I remember when people used to hate her for the weapon. Now what is people’s excuse?

Every main loves their hero. Every hero has a mains subreddit. What’s cringy about that? She’s not my like waifu and I don’t have posters of her on my wall. How much are you really going to read into the queen thing lol.

I doubt the general hate for the hero has anything to do with the sassy queen stuff you’re mentioning. Perhaps that applies to a few people.

Also it’s a natural thing for people who experience negativity from the broader community to come together and bond. That’s what it is for Sym mains. If everyone is gonna hate us, we’re gonna love eachother

Very true. But since she has some turrets and since she dared to ever have a lock-on beam at any point in history she will forever be branded as noskill. Basically poor players who lack awareness (a significant majority here) will moan about her.

Exact same for Brig, no matter how many double-nerfs she receives. Us Brig players sympathize with your plight

No, I hate McCree. He is useless and I desperately want to stop playing that freak. I wish I could just give it all up and main a decent hero like Sym. But it is not meant to be.

A queen is someone of higher standing than everyone else (except for a King maybe) which is kinda like putting your hero above everyone elses. Thats something Sym Mains do what no other group does in that fashion.

D.Va Mains for example rather call her their waifu which is neither putting D.Va above nor below any other hero.

This basically steps on peoples toes subconciously. That may as well be a huge issue for a lot of people.

Well that’s still only part of it. The stereotypes behind the people playing the hero is what causes disliking from the community. Which is the usual for any community, including one of my own being part of the Genji community. We have quite the reputation for being toxic.

Though it’s probably mostly the stereotype behind the hero itself, the inneffectiveness of what she once was sticks with people.

For example, Torbjorn is pretty damn strong currently and even knowing that seeing someone pick Torb on my team I mentally go “Wtf” because of “PTSD” [exaggeration of it really, there’s not really a better term I can think of]

Mm agree to disagree, in my books queens are the highest standing.

Queens >Kings

I wish Sym would have a King, she deserves it.

I think you may be reading too much into it. There isn’t one queen of the world there are queens of all sorts of things.

Give us Sanjay and let him be sym 2.0 with tweaked gen, a golem instead of turrets and a healing gun without autolock…

Imagine having the architech king with old barrier, gen and a golem… Pog

Love it, lets do it.

Indeed, I believe Widow mains for example consider her the queen of aim and BDSM. Another example is how Mei mains consider her to be the snow queen.

There’s no way you can stop everyone from hating everything. Therefore, blizzard should focus on making every character playable instead of dumpstering characters because people are crying about them.

Like with Sym, they still treat Torb like he has never been reworked at all. Some people believe once you are bad you are always bad.

Though it does make a bit of sense, they probably never play Torb or don’t care about him.
