I skimmed it. I’ve heard the arguments before.
I still think it’s funny you post some random conspiracy video and think the onus is on others to disprove it as misinformation, as if its mere existence lends it any reliability.

First reason I don’t think you watched the Upper Echelon video is because he has a specific segment showing an ActivisionBlizzard ESG report. Why make that report if they’re not catering to the ESG requirements of their fund source?
There are patterns that these videos bring together however they don’t base everything just on patterns, but you would know that if you watched them fully. The fact you say you ‘skimmed’ them tells me you likely have a bias, and that bias is telling you to not believe anything within them. And not to take in all of the relevant information before making a conclusion. Even when the points have proof, or the patterns at the very least are compounding, and interesting to note down. You made your conclusion of the topic before you even watched the video. If you watched the video, I still don’t believe you did.
We’re all biased, and we all suffer with this. But it’s important to recognize that flaw within ourselves so we can try and see the bigger picture.
To exclaim things as conspiracy theory without taking the time to research the topic is exactly what the left wing political cult wants you to do. The right wing political cult does the same thing by labelling things as ‘woke’ and mental illness. This is not healthy for us. This is political division and I fully believe it is orchestrated. Why the video is titled that way, politics are a big clickbait, and Upper Echelon most likely is a right winger. Do note in the introduction however, he states he is at least attempting to keep his political opinion out of the video.
You don’t have to believe this ESG stuff exists. You don’t have to believe it is affecting our media. That’s fine. But to not take the time to hear it out, to just ‘skim’ through it and write it off because you have already decided it’s a conspiracy theory… To know that ActiBlizz makes reports on ESG and still write it off as nothing… You most likely switched off because he used the word ‘woke’. Which is just a political buzz word.
Well I’ll just say, you do you. There’s nothing I can say that will poke your curiosity to be open minded to it.
I believe this is a real issue that will simply get worse over time. I believe you and others who are unable or unwilling to see the patterns will come to realize this when it gets bad enough and the patterns are unavoidable.

This is true and we can see it clearly in the videogame industry. I’ve said it in the past: since they are hiring people with these prerequisites and not the only one that counts, which is competence (good ol’ days), the products quality will decrease overall and we already have several examples starting with OW.

Yes. This is happening. There are just so many patterns to see, broken and unfinished games coming out from AAA devs with mediocre stories. Be it new IP’s or worse, existing IP’s being ruined. It is rotting the art.

they’re putting the gm of cod as the president of the entire company. this isn’t just overwatch it will be effecting, it will be anything blizzard has/puts out.
cod is also a soulless and greedy game series with a nasty monetization model as well.
this can only be bad.
her only goal is to maximize profits. that’s it. there is zero passion there. i can guarantee you she could not care less whether the games are good or not, just that they’re profitable, because that’s what cod is.

The majority of my houshold expenditure has gone to the eastern markets. Even if we do spend money on an American developer or company, its very sparce.
Then a few days ago I learned that the localizers, who translate Japanese games for example, are trying to inject the same ESG garbage into the eastern titles.
At this point I don’t have a very positive outlook on the future of video games. Best case scenario, I find another hobby. One not already consumed by people who should shouldn’t ever touch any hobby. Worst case, and what I hope happens, the industry has a major reckoning and decides to correct itself before its too late.
Additionally, I wish Stellar Blade was coming out for PC.
