The more I want to play OW Classic.
Its going to be a bummer when they end the event and we can’t play classic anymore and I’ll have to go back to just not playing OW anymore.

I think I will be forced to drop it even when the 1 hero limit gets added.
If I can’t pick what i need, it is just not the same game anymore.

Opposite for me… I played about 10 games of it and each match became less and less fun to play, reminding me of all the problems it had and why I’m glad the game evolved from it. It was only temporarily enjoyable for me because of nostalgia, but after that wore off it was awful.
I’m legitimately shocked that OW Classic is how the game launched and we were happy with it… but I guess because it was just so new and different at the time with next to no competition that was enough lmao
If OW didn’t exist until 2024 I don’t think it would have done anywhere near as well as it did…and I know for a fact it would have never won GOTY lol. It was fortunate to be a product of its time.

Isn’t it strange how two groups of people can have such diametrically opposing views on it?
All the things you suggest make OW fun or not fun are completely the opposite of my own.
I was happy with OW when it launched, and as they change the game again and again, culminating with what we currently have with OW2 I played it less and less up until not playing it at all because of how removed it was from it’s original form.

– Reduce ult charge rate by like, 50…100%
– Make the 1 hero limit but not anything further like 2-2-2
– Fix clearly broken stuff like FTH / hook 1.0
– Retcon stuff that improves fluidity, like D.Va’s charge DM or Reaper’s TP
– Retcon most of the cancels, like Reaper’s Wraith form or Genji’s deflect
– Keep old hero tech, like the ledge dash
– Retcon hero tech that appeared later, like sling-shot on GA
– Restore UI from OG - best parts of it like post-game cards
– Keep best parts of modern UI like new scoreboard
– Keep the original roaster, do not add Ana or anything past that
– Do not try to balance around pro-plays/GM, keep things fun and just “not broken”
– Embrace it that some heroes will be OP at high tiers of play
And then you'll probably get the real winner. Or at least a solid game mode people will return to play.

Different strokes for different folks.
There are people who apparently loved double shield. How? I have no clue.
There are people who apparently loved when their team had no tanks or healers. How? I have no clue.
There are lots of bad things someone out there enjoys. How? Couldn’t tell you if my life depended on it.

No brig, no denial abilities, no raidboss tanks. Best state of overwatch. Only bad part about classic is hero stacking.

eh… i like wacky games like that but I’m not opposed to preventing it either. I definitely don’t like approved compositions only games.

This game isn’t tf2, only way to counter stacking in classic is for your team to stack too.

I dont mind that at all.
Just revert the game to it’s 2020 state. The best times of OW.
And it’s not even because they’re “bad.” It’s because this is apparently what the player base wants.

Players seem to always want what they don’t have, then want something different once they have it.
Also, games are never “balanced” specifically because devs believe that this keeps the game fresh. They intentionally make changes to shake things up. I’ve seen this at design panels at GDC many times.

I want them to add this as a permanent game mode and start rotating through the different balance eras of the game.
Though I was already not playing Overwatch before so if it goes back to OW2 as the only option, I’ll just go back to not playing.

Just use shield and charge him, do shield flickering use your armour.
