The DPS blame game is strong in low elos

You can be softthrowing an entire game in gold as support, nobody will notice or say anything. But if you are not hardcarrying a team as DPS they will whine and be toxic.

I highly suggest muting chat and voice in these elos.

You have people in voice chat?

you will
doesn’t matter how well you play, if you’re not winning in low elo, they’ll blame the DPS

then simply play even better

Low ELO players have a harder time of trying to analyse a game and finding out things that aren’t working out for their team. They don’t really know what tanks & supports need to do whereas DPS go brrrrr so it’s easier to point the finger at them.

Getting to plat I see

I don’t care what rank it is. If you’re the kind of DPS to dive in alone 1v 6, get killed instantly, then rinse and repeat the entire game - its YOUR fault we lose. Not sorry, I can’t heal stupid.

It’s very easy to tell when someone isn’t landing their shots

Relatable

Also, not sure if it counts as irony or not, but in high elo games I actually fly under the radar a lot when I’m underperforming on dps. I’ve noticed people are quicker to call “tank diff” or “boosted support” or something once I start seeing gm lobbies.

No, they will indeed notice in Gold. But saying something would start a fight.

If you mute chat and voice, then you shouldn’t be playing a competitive team based game which requires voice for coordination. Even a single enemy incoming surprise in a game can turn tides.

It’s because dealing damage and killing low tier players is much more easier than keeping them alive

The reason for this I feel like, is primarily smurfs. People get used to seeing smurfs but a lot of people on ladder do not realize they are smurf, and think that “this is the standard”.

When I see Genji blade in a 1v4 pre-teamfight and he gets all the kills, Genji is not broken, and the DPS didn’t play well -> its an incredibly stupid play, but he’s a smurf and out-mechanics everyone and abuses that, and people see this as “standard DPS expectations”.

Is plat considered low? Cuz that’s where I’m in and it’s the same story nearly every game.

I’m told nearly every game to kill something and to just swap. When I do swap they complain I picked bastion. They asked for an actual DPS so I went DPS. Then they complain cuz it’s not what they had in mind.

There’s really a lot of emotions going around because people keep thinking what they can change instead of how to improvise/adapt/overcome the situation.

Here’s something I posted few days ago but nobody seemed to be interested into commenting on. Perhaps because many people like to live in denial that it’s not them, it’s their team holding them back.

You can hard carry and they still blame you … it’s mostly because tanks/healers actually want to play dps too.

Good god that is so so true.
It completely changes once you get to diamond though; It shows how people change with rank eh?

here’s the thing ive noticed to many low elo player expect their dps to be good but they dont bother to think hey if i’m in gold and i keep running into bad dps maybe it’s because i’m in gold and dps arent good in this elo because if they were they’d be in a higher elo not to mention 90 percent of the time i see dps not dealing damage it’s usually because of the tank not making space and playing to passive because news flash DPS NEED SPACE TO DEAL DAMAGE because without space dps dont have good angles or flank routes to make plays and ive noticed that tanks low elo just play wayyyyy to passive

pepega tanks and supports are the actual problem of low elo from my booster’s experience

As a support main, I agree

It’s kind of annoying to hear anyone (dps too) rant about their co-dps when they’re in the same elo.

But I’m more of a listener than a talker so I just observe and postpone judgement.

Makes sense. If things aren’t dying, it’s easy to blame the dps for that. However, I doubt people in low ELO’s understand what making, taking, and occupying space is in Overwatch. So, I would assume that as long as you don’t suicide charge as Rein your pretty much playing like a god.
