The devs really just said Orisa is fine

Devs referenced in game player stats about how Orisa is not picked a lot when there’s a gentlemen’s agreement to not play Orisa

Also, saying that they are happy about the current balance of the game. Completely out of touch

Did they actually say this.

Because something as silly as a ‘‘gentleman agreement’’ does not exist above Diamond.

Considering that DF and Rein, the heroes that everyone is saying get ‘‘hard countered out of the game’’ by Orisa are the current high rank meta, they are right about Orisa.

Orisa is just very good at punishing tanks that try to play slap fights with her, and very bad at dealing with tanks that go straight for her backline and wreck it.

People coordinating anything in any of the ranks that 99% of the players are in…

Is the sky blue in the world they live in?

You dont even need to coordinate a lot.

Sometimes all you need to do is not go straight to try to hammerbot the Orisa.

It really just proves they don’t play their own game and only look at stats. I mean she was still a PITA prior to the seasonal buffs they were giving her. But they’ve proven that many times over at this point, so…

What the devs ACTUALLY said is she isn’t overperforming, but people dislike playing into her.

That is not dev-speak for “she’s fine.” They literally butchered Roadhog after making the exact same statement about him (He’s not overperforming, but people don’t like him.)

To be frank I do think she’s fine but everything around her is messed up. At worse lower the uptime of her abilities by a tad and we done.

The problem is most tanks are being gate kept by Bastion and the supports.

Devs - our data shows that X is fine

Forums - why the hell are you using data?!?! Overbuff and joe blow say X is an issue

Orisa tbf isnt a hard meta pick atm shes just so painful to play against that she feels oppressive, she needs another rework especially to fortify

It is like a meme at this point.

There is hardly any gentlemen’s agreement in Overwatch, otherwise not many people would play Hanzo or Widowmaker.

As for Orisa herself, she is strong but not a must pick. I would argue tanks like Zarya and Doomfist are performing better than her. Orisa is all bark but no bite.

Buddy, I have people in my GM games agreeing to not play Widow on sniper maps. It absolutely does.

I’ve had games where support on both side played low heal, it was a blast as a tank, so neither tank played dive and can still kill enemies. It was lucio/mercy vs zen/mercy.

I have 0 min on Orisa in Overwatch 2 because I’m not a bad sport.

All this talk of her being an unkillable wall, she’s equally good at bullying with spin/javelin.

I’d like to hear how players “go around” her when there’s a diff on the enemy team.

I play in gold-diamond lobbies. She’s been hard meta since I picked up the game in season 3. If the flavor of the month tank is picked instead and is getting bodied…“Here comes the Orisa” lol

Well, color me surprised! /s

They keep telling us everything’s all right, while every season is worse than the last one.

That actually sounds so fun though :joy:

Lol “gentleman’s agreement”. Flats shows visible discuss when someone swaps to Orisa and this is a top 500 player. This is a player Blizz actually takes input from. To still think Orisa is fine is the definition of out of touch.

The first thing you do as an analyst is meet with the people who do the actual work (or play in this case) and discuss things with them. Only after this do you start to look at the stats/data, and then eventually refer back to them to check your conclusion makes sense. Why? Because context matters. One of the easiest things in the world is to predetermine what a subset of data means we do it accidently all the time.

Flat’s shows disgust at the mere existence of a Rein counterpicking existing at all.

Orisa is just his newest target, after he got Hog, Symmetra and Mei completely zonked over with nerfs.

Flats is the very best example of why I said people need to ignore influencers - they are all biased or pretending to be a rage machine for views.

IIRC Isn’t Flats one of the people who tried to portray D.Va’s Call Mech buff as some sort of quad-killing teamwiper?
