whats a gentlemen agreement?
A Truce to not use a specific hero, Roly.
What they said is she’s a problem in X ranks but not a problem at other ranks.
They didn’t say Orisa was fine. They told you to L2P.
That’s a fun one. I remember when it came out people were saying D.Va had two ultimates, and that call mech was better than meteor strike.
The issue is they cant just consciously neutered Orisa because the tanks she counters are high rank meta despite her being allegedly overpowered.
Do both…I’m fine with that….collect as much info as you can…but I think the data is far more important…cause there’s not much subjectivity there…
anyone you speak to when it comes to game balance is only capable of giving you a subjective take based on their anecdotal experience of the game…it may not correlate at all with what the game shows you is happening
Like if (random hero I don’t see much complaining about) torb is never brought up (people seem to be ok with him)…and the data was showing he has a 70% win rate…I’m not leaving him alone because nobody is saying anything
The developers are pathological liars; however, I do believe them. Orisa is disproportionately picked against Hog and Doom. Zarya is the meta at the moment.
If I’m being honest, I don’t see any characters as over or under powered. I don’t play at a high enough level for any of it to matter.
Yeah, right. You are totally just as happy getting a Widow as a Bastion on your team. So humble.
I tend to agree aside some heroes that are painfully dominating at all ranks. Soldier and Rein are both Blizz’s overbuffed princesses they refuse to nerf while nerfing everything around them.
In the same patch they superbuffed Soldier, they nerf already struggling heroes. Balance is nothing but another tool for PR.
This is literally not a thing. OW Players don’t have “gentleman agreements”, they play what’s meta. We played moth mercy every game for months. We played GOATs every game for a year, then double shield after that.
They admitted with WoW that when they do balance changes they aren’t trying to make things even. They are trying to create a situation where people feel like they have to learn a new class to stay competitive and therefore spend more time playing the game and giving them money.
This made me laugh because they actually said…
Or to put in simple terms they understand that players have a problem with Orisa and they’ve nerfed her once.
In no world if this them saying she’s fine.
Talk about being out of touch lmao.
Well, yes but no.
That is a thing because WoW’s sub thing, but OW never had a reason to keep people playing aside metrics.
WoW has a terrible balance because the devs are grossly biased and keep the specs they play as the eternal top while second thought specs like Ele shaman get the scraps.

Data ain’t gonna make your game fun.
We don’t need to go through this again. We really don’t. We learned from OW1.
There are two types of people in this world. There are those who, when presentated with empirical data opposing their views, grow and change their views. Then there are those who make up excuses and double down for why they couldn’t be wrong. Be the second.
The devs literally said: “This could be one of those cases where she feels frustrating to play against but isn’t giving that same value to her team.”
Then rework Orisa back to her OW1 state! Why did they even rework her in the first place? Now people are just frustrated playing against Orisa.
Nerfing heroes into the mud just because of the fee fees of popular hero mains is not a viable, just or healthy way to balance a game either.
… which is exactly what killed OW1. Nerfing heroes that popular hero players didnt like, didnt want to counter, and didnt want to see played.
I’d love to do both but we only can work with what we’re allowed to see. And they don’t seem to want to play their own game or talk to anyone who isn’t a streamer (and thus financially involved), so we’re kind of at a crossroads here.
Orisa Zarya aren’t OP as much as every other tank is non-viable. You wanna try playing anything Dive good luck cause the enemy backline will shut you down before you even land on them. Poke will always suffer against Brawl so that’s a non-option by default. And other Brawl picks can’t match Orisa or Zarya in terms of either in sustain or CC-immunity. So by process of elimination, that leaves Orisa and Zarya
