The devs are awful at predicting how changes are going to play out

Moira and Ana now outheal her by a lot. This healing nerf clearly does not let her outheal the other supports. Blizzard none of your changes are going out as planned. Valk was supposed to be fun and engaging, it was, but it was super op and now it feels useless. Now her entire gameplay feels like crap, and her healing numbers are crap. Fix this

She still heals more than Ana on average.

This is the thing. If your whole team is together then Moira and Ana easily outheal Mercy because they have AoE healing abilities. However, if your team is really spread out then Mercy is the obvious choice as Moira would lack range and Ana would lack speed.

I really can’t grasp how they can’t grasp stuff like this.
Hooks going around corners. Boop momentum issues. Instakilling tanks by right clicking as they’re stunned to death. Instakilling with bodyshots. Pharah’s whole design.

Like… how can one have so little foresight with every design they add and change they make, but also refuse to revert changes, utilize a test server properly, or admit they make mistakes?

Thank you! I just updated it in the OP

For that VAST majority of the player base she still outheals everyone by a significant margin and with ease.

For a small population of players Ana does.

In specific compositions Moira does.

I don’t see the problem…working as intended imo.

Consistently pump out more healing…
She still does that. She still got the most consistent healing in the game of all healers.
If you miss a shot as Ana or miss the spray of Moira they are less consistent. Mercys beam stays connected as long as you want it to.

Zen also has consistent healing, but it’s weak. Similar to Mercy. Sure she can consistently pump out heals, but if Ana can aim and Moira knows how to manage her resource bar then they can consistently pump out more healing than Mercy

That’s the skill ceiling of these characters. It’s harder to achieve and therefore you are able to outheal Mercy.

You conveniently left out “more healing than any other healer over the course of a match”. She is the most consistent healer with her lock-on beam. She doesn’t burst heal, nor does she miss shots that leave her targets vulnerable. But does she heal more than the other healers over the course of a match? That was the intention by Blizzard, but is it still true?

In my rank at least I struggle to maintain gold healing if I have an Ana or Moira on my team. They can just get the ally to full health before my beam even connects. And going back to the main point, the devs don’t want them to heal more than Mercy.

Well I did make a suggestion on how to make Valk more engaging.

But all I got was complaints that Mercy wouldn’t work for every composition, that only Mercy mains can suggest good changes, and talks about entirely different concepts.

Almost like they are deliberately ignoring anything that would make Valkyrie good.

This Valk would be a lot more Fun

That’s why it is disadvantageous to have two main healers at the same time.

I read over it. I sorta like the idea but it would make Mercy have bursts of healing, and the devs want her to have a steady stream of healing.

I think the devs could be sold on making Mercy have a clutch heal, easier than other clutch abilities.

Mercy struggles to be a main healer now due to the healing nerfs. The secondary healer must be on their toes and quickly healing whoever is being focused, and even with that it’s sometimes not enough. Mercy’s healing is at the point now where it goes even with a Moria beam… If she’s playing in a game where the enemy has some coordination and knows how to focus targets, you need more than a Mercy for main heals to keep them up.

And I pointed out a flaw in your suggestion that would make Mercy ONLY viable if someone on the team chose to play Zenyatta. But your counter argument was simply that she shouldn’t be viable in every composition, which is fine… would be nice if she was viable in more compositions than with just Zenyatta though.

Please stop playing the victim… it doesn’t suit you.

I didn’t believe that for a second. It’s not Mercy’s fault though, if anything its Moira’s. Moira worked because she could stack tanks, but the devs don’t want her to promote that, so they’ve suppressed it with tank counters and will continue to keep it in check. That means Moira loses a significant amount of synergy and so her value needs to come more from herself. Her only value is healing though so she has to be the best at it.

That sounds wack, mac.

Ultimately, whether you run Mercy or not is going to come down to your team’s composition. If you have a lot of low mobility heroes all bunched up then obviously Moira or Ana are superior. However, if your team has a Genji, D.Va, Hanzo and Winston then you may have to consider running a Mercy to avoid getting singled put for your low mobility or lacking range in the case of Moira.

Mercy has now become just as situationally optimal as Moira and Ana are.
