Between all that we had only 2 CC buffs (Dva boost and Zarya’s right click). As someone who has been raging at the excessive CC for the longest time, I just want to thank you for finally starting to address it.
However do not stop now. You’re on the right path, but you need to keep walking. CC is still excessive and there’s many more adjustments to be done.
It’s definitely cool to see some of my most ancient requests suddenly happening now in rapid succession, like reducing Halt duration reduction and Mei’s base slow percentage and duration—things I’d basically given up hoping for. Combined with the number of little “reverts” they’ve been doing, it’s even revived a little spark of hope that they’ll one day revert the global knockback change that made the tiniest boops completely negate everyone’s movement abilities.
Prior to the global boop buff, I think the knock on swing was a nice touch. Now that it can completely stop Ball’s movement, cancel Winston’s jump, Mercy’s GA, etc., it is pretty obnoxious, though.
I made this topic exactly to avoid being the negative Nancy, but they have mentioned CC excess literally over a year ago back in November 2018, and it seems only ow the results are coming, and just after mentioning that they increased CC further.
Credit where credit is due, but blame where blame is due as well.
Honestly, earthshatter, grav, EMP and to a modest extent gravitic flux are just bad designs.
Such heavy CC should always come with enough warning to make it interactive for every hero. Currently earthshatter is only interactive for extreme mobility heroes and Zarya/Rein. For anyone else it’s just a kill button.
Mei’s ultimate is a good example of how much warning you should have for heavy CC.
If they do end up nerfing Rein, I really hope it comes in the form of an earthshatter re-think.
All the CC that they added to this game honestly ruined it for me. I could play the game in even this awful shield meta but refuse to because of the CC. It has reached the point where I honestly just don’t want to play the game at all anymore. Idk what they were thinking adding so much CC to the game, even designing characters around it like Doomfist and Hammond, but it was a terrible idea.
CC does not belong in a first person multiplayer game and I welcome every nerf it gets no matter how big or minor.
I hope that one day they’ll come to their senses and revert those cursed boop changes.
CC has always been a massive issue ever since it slowly started getting added.
A lot of CC abilities are too good not to run with them.
Thank god they’re finally nerfing orisa’s halt. They should’ve done that to begin with. Instead they nerf every other part of her kit, and now that they’re nerfing halt, on top of all her other nerfs, it might be dark days for orisa.
Now that is some fantastic joke right there. Mei has never been garbage. She’s always been busted with way too many tools. But since she wasn’t “meta”, means she was bad, right?
Although nice on paper, this messes with Brigitte’s about to defend the back lines.
Her combo is:
3x Melee, Shield Bash, Melee, Whipshot.
The stun on shield bash gave Brigitte enough time to melee and whipshot. This nerf has made it so there isn’t enough time to melee and whipshot. This is especially annoying when duelling a Tracer, Sombra, Reaper or Mei.
I know people say “Brigitte shouldn’t be able to duel damage heroes,” but if the damage dealer (especially Mei and Reaper) isn’t able to kill her before her three melees, then they don’t deserve to win that duel.
Outside of the above mentioned heroes, the nerf isn’t too troublesome.
