Just take a look at WoW GD, they ask to remove anything can be offended lmao.
Eventually it all just results in boredom, but it takes people time to realize this.
ok, what other character is getting their name changed/revealed to be lgbt?
It seems they always do it anytime they have something to cover.
(no i’m not against characters being lgbt, i just can’t stand how blizzard goes about it, it’s always surface level. this is the company that shadodrops the “rainbow” flag)
They haven’t shadowdropped it through. The dev team has told it to Violet weeks before its addition hence why everyone though thats going to be an event.
What are the political leanings of ActiBlizz? That will play a role.
You must not understand the amount of exploitation that is in the supply chain for nearly every good on earth. I am talking about the raw materials that goods are made from. It is especially rampant in the clothing and food industries.
The global economic system is built on a foundation of exploitation. Yes, this even includes US workers where productivity has increased increased by ~250%, but wages have only increased by ~110%. We work longer, harder hours for less pay than what we should be getting.
In the US, you are paid what you are worth. Want better pay? Make yourself more valuable.
Fake-progressive I guess…
Except that isn’t how it works. One of the most basic lessons in a business school is to minimize your labor costs since it is generally the biggest cost of running a business. They go over a lot of ways to achieve that goal, some of which are underhanded. Those are the people running the businesses in America.
Don’t tell me exploitation doesn’t happen in America. I have a PhD and work in analytical instrumentation R&D. A lot of the innovations are based on the findings of grad students and post-docs that work 80 hours a week for what amounts to poverty wages where they live. Those researchers never see a share of the profits from the 1-2 million dollar instruments the company makes even if their methods are programmed into it.
Then if you guys agree with it, please don’t stop buying. Enjoy Overwatch 2 obtained through work exploitation.
I, however, will exercise my right and not promote that behavior, by not buying. At least I know for sure work exploitation happened in this company, as it’s official information. So I shall have my peace of mind in good conscience.
Man, the people at Blizzard really are scum huh
Is literal human garbage a political leaning?
I’m surprised the SEC is investigating this, rather than just referring it to U.S. Department of Justice and/or U.S. Department of Labor.
Personally, I hope that this leads to some badly needed industry-wide regulation. Cos while ActiBlizz may be having its dark underbelly exposed, I would not be surprised if there is similar toxic cultures at other game studios…and not just amongst the game studio employees, but amongst the customers who play their games too. Which is why as much as I understand the people who jump ship from ActiBlizz games and go play other games to “send a message”…I’m 95% confident those folks will be in for a rude awakening soon enough.
Anyway, that’s all I’m going to say on the matter. I must be getting ready for work.
Students, post-grads working in research don’t get paid? Omg, no way?! Of course they shouldn’t be getting a profit unless they OWN the product.
What do those students and post-grads do after they’re done? Oh yeah… they innovate and develop their own businesses.
Well, yes, it’s associated with a certain side.
What a rat filled company lol…
you are more likely to see the company dissolved and the assets sold
Imagine actually believing this is true lol.
Weren’t they investigating already?

Well said.
In fact, we know that these issues aren’t unique to Activision-Blizzard - they just happen to be especially bad there.
I wonder how many people who are posting about their plans to boycott Overwatch 2 because of this are doing so from their iPhone. Maybe they even purchased their iPhone from Amazon.
