The Acti-Blizz investigation has reached the next level

did not properly disclose the issue to it’s full extent to shareholders

Wait until they start digging on OWL and its “20 mil per slot” thing.

please remove more cleavage and butts from the game.

OW and OW2 will be fine and Blizz will come out of this just fine. Riot Games has gone through the same thing (still on going too) and their not worse for wear. Only difference more eyes has always been on Blizzard.

nothing about the patent of handicapping matchmaking?

Do some images make a game “thirst trap”?

Usually, there is context for such images (I don’t play WoW, so IDK is that is the case), and sometimes, “thirstness” is not even the intention of the artist, it is just his/her choice of design, for example, there is a lot paintings of naked and muscular man in the Sistine Chapel…

Is the Sistine Chapel a thirst trap? Mind you that the Sistine Chapel is not only a religious temple of a very conservative religion (catolicism), but it was built 500 years ago… When the culture itself was much more conservative…

No chance this will ever, ever, ever be investigated unless data is used without consent to reduce probability of better rewards.

What would this have to do with the SEC? Or anyone? You realize that in order to get a patent, you have to go through a legal process, right?

They can design their matchmaking any way that they want.

And as has been pointed out, the SEC is only investigating to determine if they released the information in a timely fashion to shareholders. Nothing to do with anything else.

And this ^.

The only way that might be even slightly illegal is if they were skewing the odds of getting what you paid for, without letting you know that they were skewing them.

Whichever option brings more money. This depends on the audience too.

Diablo 2 is two decades old and that might scare away some potential new players because they don’t know that there is nothing outdated in that game. It’s actually a much better game than most newly released titles.

Technically the inputs/controls of D2 have always been modern even by today’s standards. The only lacking thing was the 2D graphics with a max resolution of 800x600. That was too low even when the game was originally released. The Resurrected edition did a freakin’ amazing job at slapping a 3D renderer on top of an amazing game. The game feels like the original but the detail is amazing. I played the open beta and it was possible to switch between the new and old (800x600) graphics on the fly with a hotkey. That difference…

When I tried the open beta I thought it would be just about a couple hours of nostalgia but I got hooked for the whole beta weekend. Only the first two acts were available and I didn’t see an option for difficulty levels either but beating the second boss was very challenging. I failed many times and had to think about using the right equipment and skill point distribution. I decided to purchase it because I want to mess with that game again (the expected release date is within a few days!!!). IMO all diablo games suck at PvP but they are amazing at single-player and coop PvE. Out of the three diablo games D2 has the best looting system, it’s possible to even forge weapons and unlike D3’s fantasy style D2 still has D1’s dark atmosphere.

It won’t. No company would let OW die knowing its potential so id not be impressed if Microsoft bought it and OW dev team since they r buying everything these days lol

Well OW and pre-launch Destiny 2 has grown together and they do care about the console playerbase so that would be one of the good choices.

I mean there is intentional NPC traffic sabotage in GTA Online free roam missions and no one is investigating them.

I perfectly realize that also tobacco and gambling did same stuff in the past, through the legal process, since the conscience, alertness and knowledge of the themes at the time was immature. The same is with video games today, they have applied a “Skinner Box”, and they have succeeded because the rights in the field of online video games are now thin. They have intercepted the lootboxes because it is much more explicit. Even the lootboxes have probably had a cursus of approval, however they are skinner boxes even in that case, and have been banned in many countries (of the evolved West).

This always reminds me of why no one investigates mobile gaming. They are much worse in these cases

This is true. I totally approve, I see a censorship attitude in the information provided to match players, especially in mobile (and strangely in overwatch, a competitive PC title of 2016).

No score, no match history, the player must not have access to information that could cast doubts on the transparency and fairness of the matchmaking (service offered).
Avoid the risk of asking questions, avoid the risk of drawing conclusions.

Well good. See, some countries are banning that process.

Where I live, there is a casino down the road, which uses the same methods, outright basically tells you that the longer you play the more money you will lose, and is still perfectly legal. So, I’m not sure what your point is.

Overwatch is very clearly overs-xualized in some aspects though, and not just for the sake of being artistic. I don’t have a problem with it but to say the game artists are making the characters this way only because its an artistic choice is to ignore what the material is doing in the first place.

They are catering to people who like that kind of stuff. Which is fine, imo, but I think it says something about a game when 80% of the women have the same face and body type that’s clearly catering to someone’s preferences for women, and the male half of the cast is about as diverse as it gets. These aren’t bad things but it’s a thirst trap.

Even if we pretended, that lead people there had no idea about this crap going on in their own company - the way they handled it it´s just disgusting…
There is no excuse anymore…
You failed your employees, your players - everyone…
As a female player, who has to deal with harrasment in your games - I am deeply disappointed in you. If you are like this, than why should your male players treat female players any better, right?

Big oof.

How long will Activision allow the negative press around Blizzard? How long do they want to be associated with Blizzard?

I really wouldn’t be surprised if they disband blizzard one day as an easy way to get rid of the bad press and handle the games themselves.

(Let be honest here, despite the name being ActivisionBlizzard is Blizzard basically Activision. The top of blizzard has already been replaced by staff from Activision.)

Tbh, their games were much better, when they were just Blizzard…(at least WOW)
