Warning: This is about the book Overwatch 2 Declassified. If you want to read it but haven’t yet, beware of “spoilers.”
The declassified book contains some notions that could be useful for the development of new heroes in the future. It could be fun to speculate on the various technologies mentioned, some of which are already present in some OW2 maps:
- Durovidro: I think it’s really interesting to think of a new type of tank that uses a new type of barrier, a more “physical” one than the others currently put in the game, maybe similar to Mei’s wall but with different peculiarities. or in any case, a nice concept for a tank that uses Durovidro to protect teammates, a defensive hero, it could be a useful idea for the connection with the lore;
- Super Coral: it is also mentioned in the Samoa museum, it would be great to have a support hero who uses super coral to “heal” teammates;
- The book mentions a study by Ingrid Lindholm (Torbjorn’s wife) in the development of an elastic, strong, fireproof and resistant to electrical damage and acids. It would be extremely interesting to see that technology applied to a new hero, perhaps one who finds himself interested in pursuing Ingrid’s studies.
- Gwishin: they are never mentioned as possible future heroes, which is a shame: they could be interesting as a new omnic type with elements that give them a lot of speed on the battlefield.
