Tanks are still bad

They couldve done wonders with tank balancing if they forced 1 shield 1 off tank

The catch is that does almost nothing to fixing queue times, and might actually make them worse.

It isn’t like you can just lock Zarya and lolDPS with 400HP or anything.

Well true enough.

Regardless I’d argue

  • Brig should lose her AntiDive
  • Hanzo/Echo should lose their “delete a Tank” ability.
  • Ranged-Knockbacks should be reverted back to 2018 style.
    • But keep Melee-Knockbacks as they are now.

So kinda the same difference.
Changing all that would make it a lot less annoying to play Tank.

Agree with Brig and Hanzo should get back to being a sniper instead of a tanker buster.

Echo, though, I think is fine as she is.
Knock backs are fine as they are.

Zarya isn’t a better dps than most dps. She has a range of 15m and at 100 charge still does less damage than soldier. She does less damage than any other dps at their optimal range including reaper at 4m, Ashe from 35m, soldier from 30m, and mcree from 20m.
Zarya isn’t a better dps. She’s a tank with high dps.

Personally, what hurt Sigma/Orisa most was losing nearly all of their shield capacity and on top of Brig/Mei getting weaker.

Sigma/Orisa are really enabled by Mei in my opinion by providing an extra layer of front line defense that is hard to ignore. She helps to directly counter effects out of Lucio and the extra wall really helps by some time for Sigma/Orisa cooldowns in addition to stuffing comps enabled by Lucio.

The slow effect helps to mitigate Dva and Hammond. Primary fire goes through dva’s defense matrix and slows her down even more while she’s firing. Hammond’s slowing down by primary fire is good as well as how wall messes with them.

Brigitte helped to stabilize the anti-dive idea and in a way help to counter units like Reinhardt. Having a 4sec whip shot means he can’t swing as often and keeps him away from Orisa/Sigma in their face. The stun is annoying. Both are great against dva, winston, and hammond for messing up their 6sec+ cooldowns.

By all 4 components getting weaker it feels really hard in my opinion to just field 2 of the 4 or 3 of the 4 and somehow get enough benefit to run them. I feel like you need all 4 now to really solidify orisa/sigma as tank picks. After this you have flex pick on DPS and support as needed. Probably Baptiste and alternating something like McCree/S76/Ashe/Reaper. Reaper to help bolster the higher DPS out of Mei if close range and using Ashe/S76/McCree to deal with possible anti-air picks.

Well I’m making a distinction on the type of knockback.

Knockbacks based on melee attacks is fine as-is.

Knockbacks based on a ranged attack, should be nerfed back to how it was in 2018.

First and foremost because of how much it invalidates Winston and D.va. Who get next to zero value outside of close range.

Counterplay is essential to this game.

As long as DoubleBarrier can feature a lot of AntiDive, devs aren’t going to be able to do much to fix Tank variety or Tank desirability.

Ideally tanks could have more barriers, but let’s say they go with shrinking all barriers down to 800hp or less. Like they showed at BlizCon.

In that scenario, DoubleBarrier would still be superior.

And in general, time and time again, devs have shown that they do not like overly defensive compositions to be meta.

You are complaining about counterplay… In OW…

Yup, overly defensive compositions shouldn’t exist in this game.

Unless of course they are highly niche, or cheese comps done as a surprise.

And besides which, just because high tier would be Dive dominant wouldn’t mean Supports wouldn’t get played.

They just wouldn’t play Zen or Ana on Defence.
