I think tanks are doing alright. People get too rigid about what tanks work well together. For instance, Winston works very well with Zarya. Bubbling him while he jumps is hugely effective for both tanks.
I’m talking about competitive, though. I’ve noticed a lot of people talking from a purely quickplay perspective about tanks being bad now, but you’re likely to be solo tanking against 4-5 DPS in quickplay which isn’t a normal situation. You’re probably going to get melted in that scenario. Not that you’re talking about QP. Maybe you are. I don’t know. Just some people.

My point was, Rein and Zarya aren’t losing matches, people just aren’t playing them.
That could just mean people think they’re bad when they’re not.
It wasn’t long ago zarya and rein both had negative winrates, now they’ve gotten to the point where they’re ONLY used in very niche scenarios (e.g kings row) and do decent there. This is expected for heroes with low pickrates, it doesn’t make them “decent” at all. They’re bad now.

But, why? Orisa got a fairly small insignificant buff. Roadhog wasn’t changed at all.
Baptiste really had that low of an pick rate. Does he suck that bad?
Because everyone that rein/zarya works well with was nerfed to dust.
Brig was nerfed hard, before brig, rein zarya were f tier, now they’re even worse lol
Also dps buffs.
Why would DPS buffs make Orisa better relative to Rein, though?
But I would be happy having Lucio/Brigitte partially reverted as they are pretty weak now.
I also forgot to mention the nerf to speed boost making it hard for Rein to close the distance on Orisa before she (and buffed DPS) breaks his shield.

Agree on tweaking those supports back a bit, hopefully with more general changes.
I’d like that. I don’t want to see Rein buffed or Orisa nerfed. I don’t think the difference in power between the two is anywhere near what people think it is.

Many tank players did warn of consequences yet tanks still got nerfs; some multiple nerfs.
…so here we are today with many DPS players saying tanks are fine and tank players diminishing and/or trying to find a place in the game.

For whatever it’s worth I’m not a DPS player, I’m a flex player who primarily plays supports.
But it probably doesn’t hurt that the tank I dislike playing the least (well, except for Ball, but he’s problematic due to counters) is Orisa. So, I’m a little bemused by people being so upset because Orisa and Hog have stats that are basically about the same as Reinhardt and Zarya did fairly recently.
Rein zarya were no way near those stats.
The best they got to in a GM meta was 10%, orisa hog are 13% and much higher winrates. I don’t want orisa nerfed, but stop exaggerating.

I think I remember 11-12%… but Orisa’s pickrate is not good. I just think people are overreacting and she’s not as good as people think, and Rein/Zarya are not as bad as people think.

It’s 12.82% how is that not good.
13% pickrate with 56% winrate generally means a hero is good -_-
0.5% pickrate for tank generally means they’re bad
