I saw this coming even before we got the chance to play OW2.

Yeah. It’s multiple problems at once when it comes to balancing.
If your tank is counterpicked that puts your team already at a massive disadvantage, which is why losing the first fight is usually bad as the enemy tank can now swap without missing out on ult charge. Then the garbage matchmaking just makes it worse because I’ve had Plat tanks get put against Master ones.
Sorry, I think you misspelled DPS diff. Cause thats the most common I keep seeing.
DPS players are in abundance in this game and most of them are casual players who lack awareness and a competitive drive.
At least Tanks & Support dedicated players are try-hards. Half the DPS playerbase trip over their own feet.
Well I’m sorry if my dive style is not helping your suicidal tendencies. The msot flexible is dps whom have the biggest impact on counter picking.
Tank palyers often times are familiar one fo the three tanking styles. With the exception of Dva because she can brawl defend and dive. Which I think personally is stupid.
Ball/Winston/Doommfist have to dive. Everyone wants Zarya’s sheild. Everyone hates Queen or Hog for tanks.
Leaving really only Rein/Sigma/Ram as the preffered tanks for majority of the playerbase.
Here’s a tip: NOT EVERY TANK PLAYER CAN PLAY ALL THREE STYLES. For me I love a good Dive tank and sometimes go brawl if I need to defend my teammates. See I’m adapting. But I suck at shields.
The three compositions that work for any comp WHICH IS BASED AS THE TANK BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONES LEADING THE CHARGE, are dive, poke, and brawl.
I can only play Brawl and Dive. So Dive favors high mobility and aggression so tracer and genji work well with me and snipers to an often extend can help leaving hitscan heros as a middle of the pack.
For Brawl you really want a Reaper Mei Mccree Ashe but you can make do with snipers and some builders.
For Poke you got shields, this one favors hitscan then builders but really doesn’t work for flanking type dps.
Either eay don’t expect a shieldbot every single game. That’s selfish. Don’t expect your Genji to be centered around how the tank plays.
DPS have the least amount of influence when determining the effectiveness of ypur teams capabilities. You can make your plays but if the tank is getting shot at, their already doing their job.
So do yours and start clearing out the threats. Like the tank should never have the highest amount of dps among your team. If they have to clear it themselves they will without or without dps but preferably with dps that work with them.
Because truth be told an effective dps doesn’t always need to be the comfort pick for that role. Sometimes you just need to be the one to enable your healers and tanms.
The quickest way to dispel this notion is to play tank yourself. I guarantee it will suddenly not be your fault.
And behind many many a tank diff is a very clear support diff.

Agreed. Tanks and healers are stuck playing an influential role that begs them to play something to not only adhere to the situation and map, but their team needs, with hhatever hero they are most familiar with to maximsie effectiveness.
DPS on the other hand, known for being the selfish pick, for many reasons, have the least influence in determining team compositions because, and I know this’ll blow your minds man, but EVERYONE HAS A GUN.
The healers and tanks are already putting out damage of course. You cannot simply expect a tank to sit there and take it so of course they’ll fight back, and the healers have to fight for their lives or fend off threats from killing their pockets as a process of their support methods.
DPS…well you can miss all game with a sniper but get a single bodyshot or headshot to win the teamfight and you did your job. Hooray! Was the sniper needed? Did it actually work to help dps? Whom exactly is making up for all your missed shots cleaning the rest of the mess?
Get picks yes, but DPS is the influence that changes the match. Healers are already adjusting to the tank’s needs as their main healing target, tanks are stuck playing what they can play at the time of course.
DPS…cannot simply play anything they want all the time because it hinders the match up. I mean you can, but you better understand when and how a tank engages. You better be thinking about how to protect your teammates. If you aren’t you are completely lost and not on the same mindsets as your support or tanks who have to worry exactly about those issues all match long.
Tank mindset: Alright so I’m gonna occupy this space and play around this angle on this corner. If I need to retreat I can fall back here for cover and utilize this ability when I get the first intial burst. Health packs are here and here and here…
Support mindset: Alright so the tank is a dive style hero. I need something with long LOS and strong healing. So I need to position myself here or keep up with my tank. If this fails I have a secondary option in this hero, we have a flier so I need to check her every so often…

Hm i got the entire last week bonus ep for playing dps or supports, usaly it is only supports.
And wasn’t that only active if there are not enough players?
Dps decide games far more than tanks do. Maybe look at your own gameplay instead of blaming others
Is it dependent on region? In Europe I only get a DPS on Flex very rarely.
At OW2 start it was 95% Support. Now I get 50/50 Tanks/Support.
Last week I maybe got an offer to play DPS once. But this often happens at weird hours.

This would be perfectly fine if they keep giving QOL buffs to make tanks’ weaknesses less intense in order to make counterpicking not so decisive in tank.
