Oh god those were my favourite threads. Or people being like āevery time I get on genji I destroy the enemy team, it just feels unfair how easy he isā. And then you check their stats and they donāt play him in comp, have 26 minutes on him in QP with a 0.74 k/d.
Not trying to name names but the people doing stuff like this were disproportionately Mercy players. Probably because they were venting about dying to a counter, but still. Donāt gotta lie to make a point lol.

everything sounds good on paper. i see your point though, i still dont think mercy should have had the best single healing when she has had one of the top3 best utilities in the game and before the nerfs the best one unconditionally, and i mean back as an ult as well, issue was she didnt bring anything else back then besides an op ult.
that wildfire would be glorious to watch

totally agree with this, not only am i tired of hearing about it, im getting annoyed by signing in every day and only seeing mercy topics. its becoming more than played out at this point

Are people complaining that Mercy is OP and an unstoppable force? No not at all. Itās clear that nobody ever reads the frustrations that Mercy players actually have. Itās about not having fun in a Video Game.
I donāt know what you are trying to prove here? If thatās the case than Mercyās rework was unjustified.
I didnāt say it was just Mercy mains because Iām sick and tired of seeing nerf Brigitte threads. We all have problems with these forums but complaining about people saying that they arenāt having fun with a character that they used to have fun with should be taken into account. Itās a video game for crying out loud people play to have fun, if a character in a game is not fun anymore to play even when Mercy was broken and OP something is wrong.

i think hes singling out the mercy threads unlike the brig threads because for the most part the mercy and anti mercy threads make up a ton of the forum, which i realize im not helping btw, and brigitte threads are nowhere close.
Then donāt complain about Mercy threads. Itās the layout of the forums people should be complaining about. Iām sick of this stop talking about a hero because I donāt want to see it. Itās bs.

No seriouslyā¦ you are asking Blizzard to censor their part of the internet. If they are even remotely obvious that that is what they are doingā¦ people will very quickly go to any and all other parts of the internet and lambast Blizzard for censorship.
The donāt want that kind of public backlash.
then give the option to blacklist things for people, that way if people want they can blacklist mercy threads, that would be great.
i can agree, frankly im just tired of it all. Also its a nice to know this thread hasnt gone toxic yet, woot.
The thing is, there is a Mercy megathread, and it is also ignored. Itās regularly false flagged by trolls and locked. I think people posting those threads here are doing so as overflow from the containment thread because they feel desperate. A lot of their frustration seems focused around the lack of communication. Every other month thereās a patch note, āMercy. Ability - Now does _% less Thing than before. Ultimate - Reduced by ###.ā or whatever the butts and a dev canāt even pause to say something to people concerned about the future of their character in a developer update or something. On top of that, thereās so much generalization of Mercy mains too, more than any other hero in the game, and it can be difficult for some people to stay silent while people say such things. Then, thereās the people who make different/their own threads just to argue with Mercy mains. It goes both ways.
Iunno, you may know some of this but I wanted to weigh in. Full disclosure, since I have a Mercy icon: I donāt post much on the new forums, the Mercy posts stress me out, itās been over a year and itās exhausting. I canāt find it in me to be invested about her balance anymore. I donāt want or need her to be overtuned or whatever else, I just want her to not change constantly and I think a containment thread + even a tiny bit more communication from the appropriate parties would help a lot with all this drama.

Have the OW team actually COMMENT on the situation in question. Communication. I canāt stress this enough. These periods of time where everything bad happens all comes down to one thing: a subset of people think they are not being heard. And especially with Mercy, where thereās been a ton of changes, but little explanation at times for why specific decisions have been made.
OW needs a community manager that interacts with people and actually gets answers so the community, even if they donāt agree with the words, actually gets information and can actually help explain their plan/purpose in the long term. Because itās the lack of communication thatās causing a lot of the games problems in the community when it comes down to it.

Tbh the only threads I really object to are the ones that link to an outside source or another thread on here with zero other commentary. That always comes off to me as someone whoās shilling content because they were asked to.
And Iāve definitely seen a serious uptick in that kind of thread lately.

already been stated on this thread how that would most likely backfire very bad, if they do communicate it would just cause outrage, its why they dont communicate anymore.

But I look at other games right now that are successful, and no, I disagree with that completely. Part of the Reason R6 Siege has gotten popular again is that their devs have been active and discussing with the community on changes, and worked to change their game. Same with Fortnite.
Part of the problem with OW right now is that yes, you get small communicationā¦and then it stops. Itās an answer and not a discussion. And thatās what confuses people. In addition, the developer updates as you mention barely scratch the surface of things, and donāt go into depth, which is what people want. Every time they pop back up: the reason that it turns bad a good amount of the time is that they pop back up for one commentā¦and then disappear.
Hereās the thing: thereās ALWAYS going to be outrage no matter what you do. Itās the internet. But for the majority, showing a little bit more does help the community in the long run. Hell, the proof is in the pudding of other successes.
