Symmetra should counter double shield

I’m a 4200 sym player and i almost never ever use her beam.

Something is really wrong with her the nerf was way too huge they need to buff the range to something more safe like 15 meters if they don’t want to buff the dammage again.

Or best , remoove turret give me more things to survive and buff my beam ty

But it’s SYM. She has to be under a 1% pickrate or literal sirens go off at HQ!

problem is then she becomes part of the double shield meta jsut like before they nerfed her wall duration

Old Symmetra’s energy balls were so much cooler than her current iteration, and would be a GREAT anti shield tool with their piercing capabilities.

Problem is, she counters it as muchas she enables it with her ult

As am I. I’m literally not joking.

Bring back Sym’s shield piercing orbs. That’s literally the only mechanic in Overwatch history that hard counters shields. Because it just goes right through them.

Double shield; It favores symmetra.

Best solution;
Switch of shield tanks, sym is made of paper and with no shields, other heroes would have been prefered.

Dev team;
What is the cause of this!?
sym is performing WELL in an IDEAL enviroment?! in co-ordinated play!?

20% dmg reduction across the board!

The week double shield started, sym saw uptime above 1% means certain… owl favored heroes (Names will not be mentioned) usage… declined… red lights where seen flashing in the dev teams office… would spell disaster for Symmetra

Symmetra has to charge up, and the charge up takes quite a long time for the short range of the beam and overabundance of crowd control and general state of powercreeping damage output in this game.

On paper sym should be a good pick against double shield, but in practice, she is a little too close to the fire and gets burned.

Dev team only see’s potential dmg numbers.

"ohh sym looks fine! looks shes able to do a max of XXX dmg a SECOND! she is a dps hero now after alL! ( if she survives long enough hehehe but she wont… we will make sure of that!)

Problem is she only really works with a Reinhardt she just doesn’t have the beam range without a very close range Tank to play behind.

I usually try to play point with her so I do not need a shield. Especially on her stronger maps like Hanamura first. Lots of walls, and the bell. Iz good.

honestly, if they literally still can’t figure out how to do this without making her only picked for her teleporter, just move her back to support and make her a real healer hero, as supports are already picked for their “utility”, and her barrier and teleporter are still good, but she’s just not worth a dps slot, so make her worth a healer slot by keeping allies alive in a fight, while allowing her to still use the teleporter/barrier/maybe turrets

accept the mistake when trying too hard to make her a hybrid support/defense hero, accept the mistake when trying too hard to make her a full dps hero

just make her an actual support

there are so many ways to go about this with how shield health can be manipulated and augmented, even if she completely ignored white health recovery

or tank, but, she was already support, so, best to stick with that

being able to project a large, barrier-version of the hero is something i’d like to see on another Vishkar hero, like Sanjay or something, as a small-frame tank hero

nah theyll just buff moira and give her 80hps again :joy: and make sure she makes sym useless by neutering all her damage

This is exactly why you are wrong.

No hero is designed around such specific role. And neither should Sym.

In fact I could throw away the shield ammo recharge thing if it meant she has an actually fitting primary beam to her range - and the survivability on her kit too.

Sym should be an anti-mobility area control hero (something we DESPERATELY NEED in this game, because no, CC bursters are broken and counter everyone), not a taxibot with a noob trap primary fire that has never made her an anti-barrier for multiple reasons.

Why cant we just have niche characters. Like sym is a fun character on like three maps but her countering an entire comp is straight buggin. And double sheild is good because orisa and sigma have the best sustain in the tank catagorie and can off angle, with orisa usually in main, and the best poke in the game. In a brawl rush comps will always win.

I mean there was a time she did which was her secondary when she was support. Would be a good move if they brought it back.

Ehh I don’t know like this game tends to have certain heroes having specific roles to counter enemies. If anything they should make her beam slow down enemies like her old turrets. The stronger it gets the slower enemies goes when they’re hit by it.

I would agree to this if these developers were capable of handling non healing support heroes, but they can’t even when suggestions before she went dps was there. Blizzards always tend to do things their way like Sega, but fail to realize their executions fails a lot.

god even indie titles discuss their game with their community more than these people

literally look at this and explain where the “quality” is half the time

the game is beautiful and fairly bug-free in comparison to indie titles, but whatever, seriously, how is discussing your game more really going to ruin anything that isn’t already ruined

It’s not fair, at the end of the day. People like and want to main different heroes. They should be designed to be less niche if they’re too niche. If I can’t main Sym as much as someone can main Soldier, that means she needs changes.

Also niche is often just a codeword for weak.

See, even Jeff says that they’re going with what people want and not making situational heroes. You should be able to main who you want.
