It will become even more interesting if you check the Symmetra time behind each one and compare who liked and who disliked the idea.
(I’m an exception, because I’m still neutral on the whole thing, and I main Sym).

no you don;t understand what im saying, im saying ANIMATION-WISE want symmetra herself to use her hands to summon the turrets as oppose to shooting it out of her gun. i have no problem with her shooting it out before it gets deployed but i want her to use her hands to do it, because in all her highlight intros and animations she never uses her gun to summon anyhing and i don’t want them to ruin that design
That’s exactly what’s going to happen because they have no idea what to do with her. Even the most simplest tweaks would of put her in a decent spot. They’re just doing as they please at this point.
Maybe she shoots it from her hand? Idk we’ll have to see what they do.
Possibly. I want to play Sym, I really like her character design and what not and I’ve picked her up a bit more in QP. I can’t justify bringing her into comp though currently, and my play time on her is relatively low because I play healers and tanks normally and can’t justify playing her when she’s such a bad spot .
I do weigh what a sym main wants out of the character more than myself however.
thats all am i saying. i was just asking him if she’s still gonna summon it with her hands.
I think the way she do it is like how she shoots photon barrier.
Too early to know, it’d be nice if they gave us a little sneak peek with these abilties in action. Considering how long it took for them to give us the hanzo changes on the ptr it probably won’t be anytime soon
Honestly, it sounds to me like they should just drop the turrets all together. Don’t try to push something that doesn’t work.
it seems to always be the case, it’s pretty logical too if you ask me that someone who spends a lot of time figuring out a character feels at a loss when said character changes, naturally, it depends on that person’s point of view towards change in general but often times they dislike reworks because they don’t understand what is wrong and start making excuses or bandaid fixes that would further break their hero
Take Mercy for example, you now have people sending letters to media outlets just because they can’t see past their noses
Mark my words, there will be another megathread for symmetra when her rework is due
Great post. Thanks.
Just a small suggestion. Just as you say that you are moving her to “defense” and then say “it makes it a lot easier to play her on offense”, you should consider renaming “offense” to “assault” and “defense” to “specialist” and shuffle heroes accordingly, just as suggested on this post:

The old categories are not very useful at this time.
can she stick them onto the ground? and are you keeping the animation of her summoning it with hands (along with the hardlight hologram of it) because thats what it looks like in her highlight intros and her select screen animation and i really like the animation.
“We’ve lowered the max number to 3”
Please. No. Turrets are literally going to be useless if you only give her 3.
Yep. As I said, I stand neutral thus far because I understand the frustration of losing your perfectly crafted turret web that makes even Winston go crazy trying to find out where that last turret is still hitting him. But on the other hand, I also can imagine all the stuff I can do with a remote turret that have increased damage/slow. As I said, it depends on what its numbers are to decide which side of the discussion I’ll pick to defend.
For my history: I defended Roadhog changes (once he got the mobile breather), I defended D.va changes (but thought her rockets were overtuned, and they tuned it down now), I still don’t like the way Blizzard dealt with Resurrection (they could have tweaked it before creating a new ult), and I’m neutral on Sombra and Hanzo.
i think that change isnt that bad. Because it just make it easier to resetup the turrets thats it. No dmg or slow got changed and you can be more creative (brain = skill?) with the turrets thats it. I am not a sym fan but i dont mind that change at all.
30hp sounds just the same as the live turret ones, except that they will last 0.5 seconds longer and they will be 3 only.
Definitely not.
For instance, Tracer will have a harder time clearing a turret nest by random spray, and Reaper/D.va can’t shoot from a mile away and break them. D.va boosting through your nest will no longer clear them, McCree flashbang and Lúcio Soundwave will not break them (only deal 25 damage), and it might survive random explosions if they are at the edge of them (sometimes currently I can lose my turrets if Junkrat hit Reinhardt standing below the turrets).
They won’t increase the health of her turrets over 50 so don’t worry, everyone can still take them out easy. Seeing how they’re being cut in half they’ll probably just do double damage than what her turrets do now, 30 so it’ll probably be at maybe around 50-60
Pros still won’t pick her for the OWL with these changes. Since they’re the ones helping to generate money for you all, as well as, increasing your fan base, you all should maybe consult with them. And also look at her rework from that perspective. What would make the Overwatch league pick Symmetra? What is Symmetra’s role on the team? What is she good for? What situations would you need Symmetra? (With the changes you just mention, the answer is still “none”…there still isn’t a situation where she would be needed or required on a team.”)
That sounds awesome!
