Symmetra not in OWL Grand Finals

People here are not used to the concept of the scientific method I guess. When you do a laboratory test, you try to take into account secondary sources that can alter the outcome of your test.

The clearest example is that if I’m working on improving solar panel energy generation; I do a slight change to the solar panel, but I use the working model during summer and only use that data when I’ve previously only used it during winter.

If I say, “Eurka!” My slight improvement to the solar panel has resulted in a 40% output increase, I’d be a moron.

Pro play and regular competitive are very different. She was pretty strong in ladder

Sym needs more utility for be considered meta. Her ult is good, but there’s already many shields in the double shields meta (Orisa, sigma) Sym can be used for teleport teammates strategically, afterwards she becomes meh.

Still doesn’t deserve all the nerfs. She already got nerfed and now she’s getting directly nerfed and nerfed via the dive heroes being buffed. Her turrets are already super easy to destroy along with her in close range.

Dive buffs and the Sym nerfs are pretty garbo. Doomfist mains are whining and don’t even understand how much worse it could be.

ya she sucks at pro scene but was strong against ladder is all.

She has too many weaknesses for the pro scene.

Turret nerfs probly for gold and below.

Course the more nerfs she gets for ladder makes her even more useless for the Pro scene. Although turret changes wouldnt affect the pro scene much.

Oh maybe she needs widows red lazer you see when widow fires as her weapon.

30 range with drop-off pinpoint hitscan lazer weapon ahahhaa to be useful for pros.

This is why i am an advocate for Sym Support rework. I rather have a reworked sym support that can heal, than a Offensive character that is Half Support have dps with brain dead abilities.

I also do not want a character that is only useful at breaking shields and being an unused taxi.

Sup sym was more fun back then and more mentally engaging…This was kind of heading the right direction, but it went south rather quick. Even 2.0 sym deals more dmg than 3.0 Ptr sym its sad.

They took years to get her to a decent spot, then nerfed all because Double shield was meta / op. So instead of balancing that out, its better to nerf sym who is getting huge bonus from this meta coming out.

I made a post showing how easy it would of been to make ideas for a rework into a sup with heals down bellow.

Sym Suppot rework IDea: Symmetra Sup Rework Idea
My complaint Post for this patch notes: PTR PATCH IS A JOKE-- SYM DEAD – Rework her back to support

And here i thought she is in every fight and the forums symm haters claim that she is the new (Moth)mercy that if you dont have her you lose.

When Moth was a thing, mercy was used almost every game in OWL and in Ladder yet owl are sleeping on Symmetra ? The one who supposed to be OP and unstoppable melting team left and right according to the forums?

Well guess what OWL isnt using her coz to them she isnt as OP and exploitable as people here claim to be.

She is pretty much a crappier version of bastion to the pros.

Every shield breaker’s damage increased by that much.

She is a problem. He turrets slow and do a lot of damage. I am fine with the damage, but to slow you as well? Also her beam does too much damage.

Symmetra absolutely didn’t deserve a nerf. Absolutely ridiculous. People who disagree don’t know how to play against her. And she shouldn’t be nerfed because people refuse to learn.

There were LITERALLY 6 heroes played in OWL. What is your point.

excuse me read that out loud

We had to put up with Brokenitte, Mercy, and Trollisa for years and yet when Sym becomes a little bit revelevant for once in the game’s 3 year lifespan she gets nerfed within weeks. That’s bull.

It’s so ridiculous that so far all of Sym’s kit, save for her secondary fire, has been nerfed.

In a shield heavy meta,if she wasn’t good or useful, then that would make people raise some eyebrows,no?

Once there’s another meta shift,Sym will go back to being one of the lowest picked heroes in the game. And the ridiculous nerfs will make her even worse than before, especially if the next meta is dive. Like, what’s the point?

But of course, they let heroes like Mercy and Brigitte dominate and create their own metas for god knows how long but as soon as a DPS hero becomes meta,it’s like oh no,they must be nerfed to the ground.

Sym should get her unnerfed primary fire damage, her unnerfed turret damage and non-Infinite TP back. If she’s not allowed to be good at being a DPS,then why even have her in the game??

I’m certain the same heroes were used. Players know who is truly potential in this game.

1 year, but the funny thing is who was truly bothered? Certainly not good players, but mostly bad players. All you do is hit it once. Nerfing things you can’t beat doesn’t sharpen your skills.

This exactly.

Each turret has 30HP. and there’s 3 of them. sneezing on them makes them go away.

I just want to know what people were having problems with it??

I remember a random Quick Play match I had a long while ago where the enemy team didn’t know Sym could TP turrets and they also had the awareness of potatoes. So when I used a TP bomb,a lot of them walked right into it and…well, you can guess what happened.

I see many going into the same turrets and never learning to get rid of them 3rd/4th time coming through same spot even if I have not moved them. Then to only scream to play a better skilled hero due to their lack of awareness and such.

I have warned my own team of where turrets were only to see them walk right into them and often Orisa, even though behind her shield, won’t turn around and get them while her shield sponges the damage from the enemy team ahead.

Annoying when people just don’t see to think to quickly get rid of the turrets and blame the Sym as skillless because their own stupidity.
