Suggestion to reduce DPS queue time

Queue time so long, game is not worth playing anymore because it basically forces to play tank or support only. More queue time than game time, just because of one update.

  • Make seperate queue for dps only, dps/tank and dps/support for people who also play tanks or supports sometimes. Then every game that is created has randomly the dps role set up so that in one game there is “dps only” and other games “dps/tank” or “dps/support” and in those games the roles are picked randomly in start so you end up as dps or tank or dps or support. This would reduce the queue time alot, since not all dps are queueing only to play dps.
  • After 2 mins in the game dps/tank could switch up roles to dps/tank. This would not make the game so forced and by this time the game has already settled as typical troll game or 1/20 change actually an even game.
  • Also when people leave in the start of the match, why cannot they be replaced by other person who is in queue instead of cancelling the whole game ?!?!? This is so retarded, especially now with long queue times as dps.

Thanks you, I look forward for these updates to be included in one week.

There is literally no way to reduce dps ques without skrewing someone else over somehow.

This is how role que is, if you don’t want to have the que times? Revert it.

Which ALSO screws over people who want to DPS. This time it is the fillers which get screwed.

We have role based SR so people are in the right rank for what they actually do. A healer isnt always a good tank, for example.

You HAVE to queue up for your role(s) before you join the game for that to work. Switching role ingame breaks that completely.

Queue time fix = pick tank or healer or go QP classic.

Being a filler is a choice.

If fillers feel filler gets screwed, it’s because they choose to screw themselves.

Ah, not picking Tanks is a choice, if DPS are feeling screwed by queue times, then it is also on them.

It isn’t because you can’t play dps without having long queue time. DPS is also a required role in 2/2/2. Filler was not required in free queue.

No.

Learn how to adapt.

Swapping roles mid game idea is worse. And been suggested so many times already, it’s killing the idea of 222 specially when we have friiking seperate sr for roles. Use your brains.
They wont do neither of these. Specially when they said that there will be consiquenses on queue times.

And no backfilling in ranked is a bad idea aswell. Just like it is in qp. No one likes it.

Yeah call something r word with 0 posts and tell me why you should be taken seriously if at all after that?

It’s not all about you.

And, that is a choice they are making. No one has a gun to their heads.

They want to play DPS and have short queue times, well, it won’t happen for them.

The fillers wanted to play DPS and not have trash team comps, and they now get to do that.

To revert, would be to throw the fillers under the bus.

Both are wanting the game in a certain way, and both are making a choice.

This solution does not make sense.

But there should be the option to use a “fill” system.
A player that queues as DPS should be given the option to play one match as support or tank while he’s waiting, without losing his queue spot in the DPS queue.

This way, he plays one game (as tank/support) while he’s waiting, and as soon as this game finishes he’ll be placed in another game as DPS.

This would reduce DPS queue times, because players are filling.
This would not make players wait 15 minutes, because they would be playing as tank instead of waiting.

Overwatch wasnt like this, so many people have abandoned the game because if the roke que, it take so longtime to just search as a duo or 3 stack

There’s nothing wrong with those roles. You want to avoid a long queue, spread your wings and try something new.

Blizzard should have been pushing them (tank and support) more actively as a choice, if they had we wouldn’t have a situation where most people only want to pew pew.

Unfortunately Blizz chose to nerf tanks and supports into the ground repeatedly making them even less appealing to play.

They just need to introduce worthwhile things to do while in queue. Turn skirmish into FFA so you don’t have to worry about imbalanced lobbies. Let people join custom games while in queue, etc.

There are 0 good options to reduce queue times because what they implemented doesn’t reflect the community that’s playing the game

They needed to improve LFG…not force one tiny part of it on everybody…the fact that 222 has been an absolute mess since it was put in is the least surprising thing that’s happened in overwatch to date…

And I’ve been saying it since before role queue and I’ll say it again:

What’s going to end up happening is they are going to dumb down the matchmaker to lower queue times (the only thing that they can actually control)…and it’s going to be even worse for the game because of how poorly paired people will be

The easiest solution to improve queue times would be to incentivize playing the other roles, not with 25 credits, but with the fact that their queue time in DPS would be either saved during the game or moved up. This would get more people to be willing to play the other roles if they thought that the main role they want will still be there when they get out and should deal with some of the extreme time gaps.

Yay…incentivized line skipping…how could that possibly go wrong :face_with_monocle:

I know you are being sarcastic, but it really doesn’t have many ways it can go wrong? The only big thing to ensure is to figure out a fair way to assign how the line is skipped but either way if you have a DPS queue of 30 minutes and then you just simply are told you can queue up as tank or support and even save your spot in line (or have it be going WHILE you are in game and if you are next up it reserves the next spot for you) then you have managed to solve the problem on both ends, you have more Tanks + Supports AND you have people getting to play the game instead of waiting in line to play the game.

And for the person that just got on and doesn’t have a priority queue (basically what you’re suggesting)…they now have to wait behind even more people…

Or those people will do the same and play one game as tank.
Or, you know… Considering more people will be playing tank, the DPS queue time will already be shorter, even for those that just want to play DPS right away.

They are waiting behind the same number of people, now if they are choosing to not multi role then they will probably get leapfrogged by a few, but its not like there will be more people in front of them then there were previously.

In fact even with the leapfrogging I can imagine their overall queue either stays the same or goes down because the people leapfrogging them are creating more games for Damage players to get into and as such reduce the queue times as a whole.
