Some people base their entire personality around this game and only play OW. These folks find it very difficult to accept reality and will shill no matter what happens.
I’ve been considered a doomer with a big “D” on these forums for a year but I also think that some people that criticize Overwatch 24/7 also have some great difficulty to accept a certain reality and move on to another game.
Some people even came back (after the PVE bad news) just to argue on these forums. I’d recommend both sides’ biggest extremists (shills AND doomers) to stop basing their “entire personality around this game” and play other games as well.
The outrage is justified and everyone with half a brain sees that.
Promise + Promise not delivered = Outrage
Promise + Promise not delivered, pushing a worse product on us and being arrogant about it = the Outrage we have right now
Sure but so far doomers have only been vindicated by blizzards actions while the shills keep inventing excuses. We all knew OW2 was just a cash grab. Little did we know it would be this bad.
And yet there are those like OP who think defending the devs = defending company/management. It’s bad on the eyesight seeing that so many don’t know how to tell the difference.
This, they knew what they were doing scrapping OW for OW2. I only thought of PvE as something that would be an okay break if PvP was getting too frustrating so I didn’t care all that much. The problem is OW1 died and Blizzard won’t keep both running. There is NO defense against this (muh server costs). If defenders at least said “Then OW2 would be dead because too many people would move back to OW” then I can at least appreciate the honesty. If they don’t believe that, then there should be no problem.
Yes, although it was even leaked that PvE was canceled 1000% by management aka bobby kotick. The devs now have to take the fall for it, although they did the best they could.
Well, ever since they announced F2P Overwatch last year, I’ve been repeating over and over again that there was no chance for PVE to be a P2P expansion and that it would most likely be F2P as well (as PVP).
People shut me out and mocked me so hard on these forums and well… I was sort of proven right, I guess. To me, it’s just logical for a game that chose a certain business model to keep up with it in the future.
Though I’m disappointed talent trees are gone, I’m glad they’re not going for the hardcore P2W cash grab à la “Diablo Immortal” (that I stopped playing after a month because of the scummy-scammy shop and the game was just repetitive).
But let’s not be happy just yet… We didn’t still don’t know what will come with the Story missions. They are going to sell PVE skins that come along with each story mission for sure but who knows what else they’ll have in mind to cash as much money as possible.
