The wait will be more bearable if we saw more heroes being revealed besides Sojourn. In the lead up to OW1, there was a steady stream of heroes and their kits (along with gameplay demos) being revealed.
It would definitely help because right now it feels like a huge wait with nothing to discuss or tide us over.
What new heroes.
Nothing has been said about new heroes for OW2 (not for launch at least)

Previous hero reveals were how long before actual launch……couple of weeks? why do OW2 heroes require a reveal a year before they launch?
Over a year before launch they were announcing a few heroes every few months. Zarya, Lucio, Junkrat, Soldier, Mcree etc. All got their own reveals and gameplay demo footage all in order to build hype. That hasn’t really happened with OW2.
If they’re smart, they’ll add another hero that appeals to the Mercy demographic.

being in the works is not the same as being launch heroes. They are working on few heroes all the time. That doesn’t mean all of them will ever be finished or launched at the same time.

The fact that they’ve stopped releasing heroes for OW1 means that they’re holding off because they have heroes ready to release for OW2. That should be plainly obvious to anyone.
If OW2 launches with only one new hero it will be the single biggest blunder in the company’s history.
If they started showing the new heroes then people will be mad they don’t just put them in OW1 
While I hate waiting for OW2, itd be better for them to hold absolutely everything they can and release it all with OW2, instead of ruining the suprise early while still having to wait for it all anyway…
Spoilers don’t make the game come out faster, all it does is make it harder to wait tbh.
Those are just two hero names. That doesn’t mean anything. What do they do? What role do they belong to? We know literally nothing and it feels like it’s because they don’t have anything to show.
A dumb minority would feel this way. People who are not wilfully stupid would understand that top to bottom Overwatch 2 is an entirely different game. Heroes for that game would simply not fit in this one.
For everyone else a breakdown of even one new heroes abilities would give us months of stuff to chew on. There’s a lot you can infer about how ow2 is gonna play by analyzing their skills, damage and hp values.
It was briefly mentioned by Jeff that Sigma was originally meant to be Mauga but they’ve thought the kit is not matching with him so they’ve made a new character instead and will make Mauga at a later date.

That doesn’t mean he is coming anytime soon or at all especially if they felt the need to scrap him for sigma.
maybe not one but doubt there will be more than 3. Also they can just hold them back for after the release just to have any kind of content to show.
If they have managed to pull of only 11 heroes for 3 years, there is no much hope there to be a lot of new heroes.
Blizz confirmed several new heroes are already coming on launch.
