Or kick these people into a separate leaver queue. I don’t want them in my matches. Your current punishment for leaving, i.e. XP penalty is a joke.

Agreed. I really wish I could just opt out of backfill.
Most of the time there is a good reason people left a match early and it has nothing to do with a disconnect. In those common cases, when I do come in to the match it is lost already or the players still in it just don’t care enough to put in any effort to not be bad. Just a waste of my time and generally a horrible experience.
Don’t want people to leave your matches early in quick play? Start with trying to put a decent team composition together. Follow it up by playing to win and being a good team mate.
The temptation is just too great to leave when you see 5 insta-lock DPS and you still have to pick. The temptation to leave is there when you pick tank and nobody else picks a healer - or when you pick healer and nobody else picks a tank. When you see 2 snipers, a sombra, a sym and a torb all insta lock - you know that the likelihood is high that you are just wasting your time.
I do not leave matches. But I do understand how people feel justified in leaving early and I certainly do not blame them when it feels like some of their team mates are throwing the match or just there to troll.

Currently i m trying to play ashe only in qp.
So if ever someone else picked her i simply leave before the game start. I think it s quite common behavior when a new hero goes live and i see nothing wrong with that. What s your problem?

It’s qp and arcade get over it, it’s not a serious mode and we can leave if we want to
Competitive is what you have to take seriously and stick till the end no matter what

You are ruining the game for everyone by leaving in the middle of the match so you deserve either to get banned or kicked off to another queue with likeminded people.

That seems harsh for people who want to play the game but don’t have a good internet connection. It’s one thing to say you shouldn’t play comp if you might disconnect, but to not play any game mode?

Not gunna happen, its just qp, if my team is bad and im bored ill leave and go play arcade and someone will fill in the empty spot, there is no “ruining the game uwu” by leaving a qp match stop being so dramatic

They could apply the punishment to only trigger if you use the “Leave game” button

1 of 2 things should happen.
Either make it so if you leave a match before it ends and re-queue within a few minutes then YOU are forced to backfill. I don’t care if you have to sit in queue for 15 minutes.
Other option, just make it so you can’t queue for ANYTHING for 30 minutes. If you leave 3 times within 3 hours you get this timeout. It takes 48 hours to clear so leaving again nets you another 30min timeout and resets it back to 48 hours till it clears.

Nah ruins it for the poor shlub who has to backfill into a game that “wasn’t good enough” for you, oh and then they leave because its backfill and another guys joins and then leaves because backfill and this keeps going until the end of the match, but “the game isn’t ruined!! iTs oNlY qUiCk PlAy”
Also being 5vs6 whilst the game looks for the backfill is the worst.
I’ve played since launch and say what you will about balance and “bad heros” its leavers that are the number one thing that ruins this game.

For one, there’s numerous legitimate reasons to quit a game. Maybe you’re just killing some time, but don’t have enough for a full match. Maybe an errand or a phone call comes up, and you don’t want to afk. Maybe you have a heart attack and have to call an ambulance.
And the whole point of quickplay is that it’s a casual queue where winning and losing is of no consequence. Stop being a sore loser and recognize that you, also, are well within your rights to leave if you don’t enjoy a match.

Especially in Arcade CTF, if we scored, the enemy team just leave & the game just get forfeited. That’s why I don’t play this mode anymore.
That wouldn’t work, because then people will just alt-f4 or control-alt-delete and quit game.
