Spilo Dev Matchmaking Interview TLDW

Indeed and no explaining is going to make it any better simply because it fails to do the one thing that it is designed to do.

No, it’s doing matchmaking properly, but it can’t setup satisfying games because no one wants to play tank, queue time is fast, and therefore match quality is low.

Actually, OW can spit out good games if the dps and support playerbase is willing to wait for an hour or two – the match quality would be really good.

:man_shrugging: Enjoy feeling like you have no agency in your matches, not understanding why, and using the mm as a scapegoat.

I just think players needn’t create their own suffering. But honestly, doesn’t affect me at all, so go on being ignorant, I couldn’t care any less.

If that was the case the tank mains would be the ones with most wins among the entire playerbase.

It is much more than just “well players are throwing”
And even when that happens it is after the match is being revealed as 1 side stomp.

That doesnt make any sense whatsoever.

Go back to school ffs.

talked like every moronic tank main here

What he said, lol. Dude, TLDR, the matchmaking is aimed at making the game as close to coin-toss as possible, so shrug.

Coin toss isn’t proper matchmaking. It is one weak team vs a strong team.
proper matchmaking is when both teams are of the same skill level (which isn’t the case if a match is one sided, which is always)

Talked like every moronic conspiracy theoriest here

Its confirmation bias + moving the goalpost.
Some of them literally want access to Blizzard data and even so, even if they were able to see LIVE how the MM is working, they would claim its “shadow filtered” or something.

“here is the evidence”
“I dont want evidence, I want you to be wrong”
“Ok dude”

Don’t bother engaging with them, I’m gonna stop now too, along with Nerf. Theyre stubborn, hate the game and do nothing but crap on it, and can’t be shown what mm actually does.

Self accountability and… I believe the term is use your logic are the last things any mm riggers will ever do.

It feels like that because despite both teams having the same ELO, lopsided results is the norm for any game below GM. Unless you consider all players in this game to be bots (as in literal robots who function without variation), they’re never going to be consistent, especially the casual players.

“Understood” is a tall word to use with these people.

That sentence you highlighted really shows theyre dumb ah, literally saying its rigged to be coin tosses then saying one team is weak and one is strong.

I dont even think they realize how stupendously daft that looks.

I understand, and I also understand that they’re calling the system rigged despite the fact that it’s designed properly because they are dissatisfied with their games, when in fact it’s human nature that is at the root of the problem – the differences in how we play the game, specifically.

I think this has to be pointed out because this is one of those problems where it is no one’s fault, but it’s human nature to scape goat, so shrug.

Both have the same elo because the matchmaking isn’t doing its job.
If they are the same elo, they shouldn’t be completely outclassed so often by a team of the same elo.

nah just called out tank shills who will call zero transparency as proof.

It’s called gaslighting for a reason. Devs will never reveal their true intentions when it comes to their matchmaking systems.

The problem is when people swallow it whole and believe anything they throw at them.

If you can’t be critical towards game developers, then you’re not a true gamer. You’re just a sheep.

Bruh. Tank is my least played role.

We’re done. Sucks to suck chump.
