Sorry but Pink Mercy isn't going to come back

And it’s kinda weird how the only way people wanna donate to help others is if there’s a reward involved.

None of you care about the organization itself or you’d just dono to them now or would’ve been throughout the past 5 years.

Pink Mercy was a one time thing, it’s possible they’ll do another awareness proceed but I doubt it’ll be for the same skin, let it go, you didn’t get it.

Nah it’ll come back in the shop for $30 or 3200 Coins :weary:

$30 is way to cheap lmao. It’ll be like 6,700 Credits so you’re forced to buy the most expensive Coin Pack.

I like that coping method though…

Thanks, I’ve donated over sixty dollars over the course of several months :sob: No joke

Edit: It was towards BCRF as well

people who act all superior because they bought the skin the first time round irritate me. you didn’t buy it because you desperately wanted to support the charity, you did it because you wanted the skin. which is absolutely fine, it’s a win-win for everybody, you got a cool skin and supported a worthy cause at the same time

but get off your high horse. I say this as someone who bought the skin

yeah, we dont care about organization so what

Self-interest is a very core part of human nature as a means of self-preservation, which is a big reason why true charity or selfless giving feels so heartwarming.

The people that donated money to get the Mercy skin are not much different than people or corporations on social media touting their virtuous opinions and actions for good reputation / PR. The difference here is that, instead of disingenuously virtue signaling for purely selfish reasons, a nonprofit organization benefited from the Mercy skin sales, which, in turn, can benefit a lot of mankind through potential scientific breakthroughs through research.

If it comes back, it should benefit the same charity at the same price, and I am not sure why anyone would have issue with that given that the proceeds are for a good cause.

It’s been exactly 5 days since Pink Mercy was mentioned.

We need a counter on the forum.

I generally avoid making claims about the future as factual, myself, because with there being no way to actually know the future, such statements tend to rob the person making such claims of credibility

that said, Pink Mercy can come back, and this will occur when and if Blizzard decides it will happen, no matter how many forum members claim it cant ever happen

actually, its not weird at all

Charitable organizations like BCRF realize that there are three types of people in the world when it comes to donations. Group A donates just to donate. Group B needs an incentive/recompense to donate. Group C doesnt donate - they either wont or cant. BCRF and other charities understand this, and work with both groups A and B in order to maximize donations, just as they did when they worked with Blizzard to offer Pink Mercy.

There are many problems with this statement

First, this is an attack on other forum members, which is against both the spirit and the rules of this forum. I ask that this cease

Second, not only is it an attack, it is a baseless attack because it is unlikely in the extreme that you know anyone who is interested in the Pink Mercy skin well enough to know their motivations, and ergo legitimately be able to state that they do not care about BCRF

Third, caring about BCRF and wanting the skin are not mutually exclusive. One can care about BCRF and want the skin

Fourth, despite what is being implied here, there is nothing whatsoever wrong in wanting the skin.

Fifth, the motivations of the buyer are irrelevant, because the dollars from those with you might consider high minded spend exactly the same from BC research as the dollars from those you would not consider high minded

not at all

although it has only been offered once, it isnt restricted to only being offered once, and can be offered again

I have always been in favor of more charity events

However

  1. The Pink Mercy skin is ready to go. No other charity skin exists at this time

  2. This hypothetical second skin would require dev resources that would have to be diverted from OW2 development. Since OW2 is in a highly incomplete and problematic state, I dont see this happening anytime soon

  3. If this hypothetical new skin were to be created, I know of no good reason not to offer this skin AND Pink Mercy at the same time, both singly and as a package deal, as this would result in a bigger bag of cash for charity than would be earned if only one of them were offered

no

There’s no reason whatsoever to let it go

This forum is for discussion legitimate ow-related topics. Pink Mercy is a legitimate ow-related topic.

Continued discussion of the topic ensures that those with decision making powers know that demand remains strong for this product even years after the original release. This makes such discussions important

I wont be letting it go, and I rather suspect that other hopeful individuals wont be letting it go either

I dont see Pink Mercy returning as a not-for-charity item. It is as far as I know inextrictably linked to BCRF, and as such, the proceeds should go to BCRF…and it shouldnt be purchasable with any currency other than real money

to put it another way - you cant pay for BC research efforts with Blizzard-coins

same charity? absolutely

same price? perhaps not

Inflation and all, I could definitely see a second offer come with a much higher price tag…and more dollars to BCRF is a good thing, anyway

not at all, to both items stated above

As I read this, this post seems to be implying that this topic is spam

it isnt

it doesnt meet the forum definition of spam

further, this is a post that is AGAINST the return of this skin while the most recent previous post (from over 3 weeks ago, mind you) was in favor of the return of this skin. as such, these topics arent the same, they are opposites

You’re repeating yourself.

And no, no where did I imply it’s spam. It’s sarcasm.

there is no repetition in my statement

even after re-reading the original statement, I see what i stated to be implied as being implied.

I’m sorry but everyone who says this… then why did anyone buy the skin in the first place?? shouldn’t everyone of just donated straight to charity with that logic. Don’t try to highroad people… it’s so annoying

Watch her come back in the new shop for 4000 coins to support Koticks wallet…

I dont see a charity skin ever being purchased for other than real money, personally
