Why shouldn’t Sombra be able to use her hack ability on your ultimate ability then?

They do it to balance the game, and you are right, they do whatever they want.
They want Sombra to be able to do this.
Just like they want Mei to block ults with wall.
Just like they want shield to stop most abilities.
etc. etc. etc.

Neither Valkyrie, nor wholehog nor blade are channeled abilities… they all are transformation abilities.
Valkyrie transforms Mercy in to literal Valkyrie that gets to freely fly around.
Wholehog transforms his gun in to a budget version of mini gun
Blade transforms Genji changing his m1 from throwing shurikens in to a blade swing.
How those are channels? Are you just trolling at this point?

If I can’t hack you in that scenario as Sombra then my interest in playing her drops significantly.
I think this whole topic was made on this whole premise… So people won’t play sombra, because op doesn’t want them to.
I understand what they do and why they do. They added Orisa’s ult cancelation when Orisa was too powerful, and they removed tree destruction when LW was too weak. So these people trying to tell me that there’s a consistent logic behind Sombra’s abilities is just laughable. I am not saying if these changes are right or wrong. I am just saying, it’s not consistent. How come people argue with this, I have no idea. One guy said Orisa is a robot, so it’s ok. So by his logic, every hack should completely shut down Orisa, like Bob? These people have no idea what they are talking about.

There are vods in high ranks where people do no invis sombra runs and play like soldier and absolutely destroy everyone.

Whole hog = channeled ultimate type.
Terra surge = channeled ultimate type.
So it’s inconsistent, and you are wrong.
We are talking about the health of the game here.

Bob just isn’t hi-tech as her. Even Sombra has a hard time getting past all of Echo’s firewalls according to voicelines between them, and Orisa might have similar internal defenses - Bob is but a simple butler omnic.
See, if you apply imagination, anything can be reasoned. 
If you must keep bringing that up, I will say what I said then, doing any amount of damage to a sombra who is hacking you will interrupt the hack and put it on cooldown…
I did not say that junkrat counters sombra, I said that he can kill her in a shorter time frame than it takes for her to hack him (this was before the S9 hp increases btw) you just focused on the melee as a gotcha.
Whole hog was turned into a transformation ult near the start of ow2, the wiki is incorrect and you can test this interaction in game. They changed hogs ult so he can hook and tab while using the ult.

And it’s not like you can even “just kill the sombra” because she’s invisible and won’t show herself.
Certain characters get ult cancelled by her almost 100% of the time in matches: Moira, Sigma, Cassidy, they all get it cancelled nearly every single time with not really anything you can do about it.
“Just kill her” is not an excuse or a tactic because she will stay invisible and out of harm’s way if she knows one of these ults is coming up. She should only cancel them if she ults.
Hack is the only ability that can shut down ults that can:
Do it from complete and under safety
AND
Without needing to aim
AND
Without needing to worry about wasting it or missing
AND
With a very short cooldown
I cancel Sigma’s and Moira’s ult every single time I play Sombra. Literally every time, it requires no skill whatsoever. You need to actually hit sleep dart to do that as Ana, and if you miss it’s on cooldown for a long time. Even if you don’t miss it’s still on cooldown for a long time. Sombra does not have this issue. Even if she somehow gets hit while hacking and her hack is cancelled, she can just translocate and try again.

Then what IS your point? The 4 examples you listed have channeled and transform ults. Genji can’t be taken out of dragon blade and Hog can’t be taken out of whole Hog; orisa can be EMPed and hacked like cassidy with high noon, ang Sigma can be interrupted by more than just hack when trying to flux (hook, spear, punch).
If you’re going to do your research, look for up to date information because the wiki is often fan made and not updated by some blizzard employee. If whole hog was still channeled, he could get taken out of whole hog by ANY CC ability; he wouldn’t even be able to use hook or breather like he did before OW 1.5.

Sombra has countered sigmas ult since the release of sigma. This isn’t new to ow2.
Whole Hog was changed from a channeled ultimate to a transformation ultimate a while back.
Terra Surge was and is a channeled ultimate that before couldn’t be canceled from Sombra’s Hack, where hack cancels all other channeled ultimate. The devs changed it to be consistent with other channeled ultimates.
The one change I do not understand was the changes to hack and Mei’s Blizzard and Lifeweaver’s Tree of Life changes.

The info on this is not very consistent either. Some ultimate types I couldn’t find at all, like Moira’s. Even so, EMP hacks some gadgets and doesn’t hack the tree, for example. Which is a gadget, and it was hackable before. And symm turrets can’t be hacked manually too, according to wiki. How is this consistent?
It’s just you solo tank now and kina want to have a privilege of having an ult too.
Because it’s inconsistent. You can find 2 matches in hundreds, but still it doesn’t come up with any logic. There’s a little bit logic, like channeled ones are canceled, I get that, but it’s not 100% correct or consistent. I am happy that you have a Sombra portrait, but you acknowledge that.
Sombra would need massive buffs for her to be interesting if they increased hack CD, removed invisibility, or limited what she could hack. At that point I would rather play Tracer, Soldier 76, or Genji!
I just don’t get why they can’t deal with Sombra not being super powerful. Is it because they are selling skins? Maybe.
If sombra doesn’t hack (not talking EMP) any ults at all, she is still very powerful. Very very powerful. I just don’t get why there has to be Mary Sue in this game.
