People don’t choose heroes because they’re hard or easy. They choose them because they enjoy the playstyle.
Employment has nothing to do with a competitive video game that should seek to retain some level of competitive integrity.

Yes. That’s kind of the point I was making. It’s the logical question you should be asking why people would do things that might be harder without actual pay off. Maybe they just enjoy it.
What job is easy but makes more money than the harder one? Asking for a friend here
They don’t enjoy it because it’s hard.
0% of insert hero here’s playerbase would stop playing them if they were buffed and made easier to be effective on.
People like doing what they like and people like winning. Which of those two things they care MORE about governs how they go about picking heroes.
In what ranks? I mean, I can get a solid 3.5-4 KD from Diamond-GM on Tracer and so can most good players judging by Overbuff.
In GM but it’s the same more or less average across all ranks even qp not individual stats.
Ok but that’s misrepresentation in a different way. While I don’t agree with the OP, Ana’s pickrate is over double that of Rein and Soldier, the most picked DPS and Tank.
So is there a problem? She’s getting the same KD as Tracer/Genji, but also remember that she has much more survivability than either of them which will naturally drive the KD up
I will wait until they finish selling new Sombra skin, drop a nerf or two on her.
And the Sombra community explodes.
She has better kd than tracer genji while requiring 1/10 th of the effort
Cry about it or something idk.
KD isn’t everything. And Tracer’s value literally doesn’t come from kills in this meta, either. Genji isn’t as survivable so his KD will be lower despite getting more kills.
She belongs in the same niche as them flanker dps and gets more value than those two with way way less effort.
And yet she is statistically underperforming or balanced. Can we not nerf a balanced hero again. You’re all upset that you need to support. That’s absurd. If the reason you want a hero nerfed is “you don’t want to help your team” then that’s an awful reasoning. She can be countered and she’s way way worst against tanks. Which is a net positive for the game.
That’s not what I said though lol. I pointed out their difficulty but did not say they enjoy it because of that difficulty. You are inferring that though.
I’ll be more direct in that people will choose things they really enjoy in spite of inherent difficulty that thing may have.
As for this;
Within roles we all have access to the same characters. I think that actually does maintain competitive integrity. You don’t like that some characters are inherently much more difficult on them and thus many people are going to be less consistent / good on them. But that does not actually ruin competitive integrity, they could use the easier options if they wanted to. We could also just make every hero the same and that would arguably make the game have more competitive integrity. Not that that’s a good idea.
This hero has risen to top4 in every rank in a month
Tracer isn’t even a flanker right now, not really. Genji is, but KD still doesn’t matter to flankers…
Oh honey no. That’s actually embarrassing. Take it back and no one will make fun of you for that horrible take.
Remember what happened to Widow? She didnt overperform or anything, doing worse even, still got massive nerfs? And she at least requires a lot more skills than a Sombra.
Fun factor, fair effort to reward ratio should also be considered while balancing a hero.
I doubt anyone will make fun of me after reading this
Lol ok buddy.
Tracer in this meta has been an opportunist, not a distraction or meaningful threat in the backline. She’s never been entirely a flanker, and right now it’s far too dangerous to play her like one.
Play Tracer above Gold and you’d understand that.
