like can she not be the absolute worst person in the game?

I’m not talking about balance so keep your “PeOpLe ArE rEaLlY wHiNiNg AbOuT sOmBrA nOw?” comments

she’s just the epitome of anti fun in this game. her whole kit relies upon preying on lone players and making them miserable and it’s just annoying at this point

i play sombra A LOT and i can see why people would hate her. to actually be worth something in the game playing her i usually spawn camp supports or try and make their life miserable. its nothing personal but how else can she succeed?

by staying invisible and booping people? heh

I found Sombra lot’s of fun to go against in OW1.

Having to duel her off with no abilities was a completely unique challenge in OW1 and it’s the unique quirky things like that which make them game interesting.

Unfortunately this player base complains about everything and now we have the pile of crap we all play today.

its weird tho since when i play support and i encounter a sombra they usually are just helpless kittens runing around doing nothing. i think good sombras ARE VERY RARE. i only remember two times in the whole of overwatch where i had a problem with sombra

one time one was a blatant aimbot hacker

I think people hate sombra because it makes they have to aim they cant rely on abilities so if they use them as a crutch it hurts them much more

if I hated flankers i’d have mentioned more. I specifically said sombra.

Sombra with timer on invisibility and no hacking from invisibility was fine. EMP was extremely busted though and it ruined my liking of the character. It was the biggest “press Q to win” ultimate, shutting down every option you have to counter their ults was just so annoying. You had to hide as Zen or Lucio in some obscure spot to even stand a chance against EMP.

Now she is insanely annoying in neutral gameplay. You never know if you are getting scouted right now, pinged to teammate and ready to be dove. You can never flank safely because maybe there is Sombra right next to you pinging you (kinda like Widow walls, but permament and it’s a guess, not 100% the case). Always harassing you and if she gets low she just translocates away, never getting you the satisfaction of killing her unless you land a sleep or one shot on her. Her kit is pure annoyance. New EMP is imo less broken even if it deals a lot of damage, at least in 1.5 second you can press your Q. So Trans or Beat will save you from not perfect EMPs, sometimes even good Suzu or Ana nade.

i would actually want ov 1 sombra back
it was unique

this invis hack and damage boost is only holding her back

but i know tanks would cry bcs of 5 sec hack

she’s a hell of a lot more fun (to play as or against) than ranged one shots. You can actually counter sombra without resorting to mirroring.

are you Rein main ? if so yeah I understand your frustration if she was OW1 Sombra , right now she is pure garbage her hack does not last that long anymore it is only 2 seconds long you literally can survive that with even Lociu

Ball, Doom, Bastion, Widow, and Zen can answer that question. She doesn’t need to spawn camp, she’s just really good at it.

This idea of hack = anti fun needs to die off like overpriced chain restaurants. OW1 hack did not turn off your primary fire. What good would it to do hack a Soldier, Mccree, Hanzo, Junkrat, Torb, or Sym? None. You still could fight back. OW2 her hack disabled abilities for 1 second. You might as well make it 0 seconds honestly because it feels the same way.

So just say what you’re really trying to. She forces you to swap heroes and you don’t like that. That’s what it boils down to. The heroes that counter Sombra aren’t the flashy 360 nO sC0pe Trikkshotz heroes and that’s all you wanna play, so that translates to “Sombra is anti-fun.”
