Sombra death rate has ballooned to absurd levels

She got changed like a week ago. People haven’t even adjusted to the changes yet. Of course her death rate is going to spike while people relearn the character and screw up.

The permanent invis is something I didn’t personally like having. I’ll admit that. I preferred it as a separate cool down or a resource based alternative that could be triggered or held.

They have. Her new playstyle is more defensive. Her power has shifted away from being a backline assassin and more towards disrupting the tank. You would think going more towards a defensive playstyle would increase her winrate given the natural bias the stat has towards defenders. But her winrate has dropped and dropped quite significantly. This obviously points towards how weak the hero is.

I wonder how Roadhog’s, or Symmetra’s, or Bastion’s, or Torbjörn’s numbers moved up or down during their “adjustment period” at their respective reworks.

It makes her difficult to use on attack phases or in poke comps.

Well, I personally don’t like that. Since largely “More Tank = Better Matchmaking” in my mind.

Would you be up for this?

Keeping in mind.

  1. It makes it so that it’s way less of a headache for Tank players.
  2. It’s still strong with Virus and Hack, but not a “Sucker Punch” feel to it.
  3. You get Teleport and Stealth on separate cooldowns, with the most Sombra player preferred versions of those abilities.

I personally want them to combine hack+virus so stealth can move back to her shift. Put it on a timer. I really like the idea of current version of stealth where shooting her reveals her but doesn’t cancel it. The current rework is a good concept but I think they purposefully butchered it to allow Widow to shine this season for obvious reasons.

That would give her no solo counterplay. Last patch your counterplay was canceling hack, with this you couldn’t and you’d just die with no counterplay.

That’s the thing though.

My approach,
Land the hack, THEN you get Virus. Gives a tip-off the opponent that “Big Damage incoming, get ready”.

As compared your approach,
“Half your health is gone before you even realize it, good luck! Also at no point in time can you shoot back with lethal damage unless you have a hard stun, which is rare”

Like your version could totally work, but we’re talking 175hp Sombra here.

Because,

  • Lethality + Mobility + SuckerPunch = Mortality💀

So if she’s gonna have all three, then she’s gotta be a glass cannon build.

In my version virus couldn’t have the extra DoT from hack. It would have to stay at the standard 75 over 4 seconds. That’s literally nothing to a tank player.

I totally understand being spawn camped by a Sombra, it happens to me cause there are way better sombras than I am but I also do that to other players.

And they never ever change the way the play. They expect a different outcome by doing the same thing, which is what sombra relies on, if you’ll realize that sombra will almost always hack you from behind, and will need to come out of Invis to attack you that gives you time to fight back

Or better yet. How about just waiting for your team. Sombras don’t harass you because she’s OP. She harasses you cause she knows you’re not going to change hero’s, you’re not gonna to turn around, she knows you won’t wait for your team.

Ya’ll are doing the same thing supports did back in season 1. Gave zero time to adapt to the new version, instantly started kicking and screaming.

Give it time, let people learn the new way to play her, and THEN we can start talking about how to further tweak her.

This was purely a low rank issue, and some supports still haven’t gotten the memo. Most good supports understood the change very quickly. In fact it was fairly well understood by the end of the betas lol.

No, it wasn’t. Even players like ML7 were getting farmed because his team didn’t peel before he started swapping off Ana

Well, how would the version in your mind be different from this.

Also I kinda fail to see why this would be less frustrating for Tank players on dealing with Hack.

Where it’s 100% a blindside.
As compared to now, where you at least get 0.65sec (minus about 0.1sec for latency) to mentally prepare for it.

Unless the Hack duration is like, 0.5sec on Tank. I.e. Parry style timing.
